Replacing the front and rear sway bar links since the current ones are all torn and lost the grease. The front and rear bushings will also be replaced since I noticed a little bit of clunking in start/stop conditions.

My man, great video and editing. might want to say the size of the bolt each time you remove one

For the front sway bar bushings. The bolt that is on the slide half of the bracket comes out fine. But the bolt that is suppose to come all the way out just spins in place? Any ideas?

Yours might be stripped. You might have to cut the bolt and retap the threads.

What (mm)size are the oem sway bar bushings? I see lots of options in sizes idk what difference it makes. And are the front and rear sway bar bushings the same size? I see 19mm,21mm,22mm options online but idk which is the correct one for 4.0 2wd 2004 Toyota 4Runner… please help!

It might be best to give your local dealer a call and have them check the size and part number for your year.

Did you get extended sizes on the links? Since you have a lift.

I did not. Haven't had any issues with these since the install.

I cannot get the top end of my links off, after breaking them loose the bolt is just spinning the ball joint at the other end- have this happening on both sides. There doesn’t appear to be any way to hold it unless I try some vice grips. Yours seemed to just come off. Did you do something to combat this?

The top of the shaft below the bushing should have a hex shape to fit a wrench on there. You can hold the shaft of the end link while you spin the nut off.

Also try holding them with the vice grips like you mentioned.

I've had this too. if it is in the removal, you can just grip the washer or vice grip the whole bushing and bite into something while you ratchet the bolt off quick. Will come off fast. If putting it on, the new one has a little nut you can grip. Hope this helps!

Do you have to take the wheel off to do this job?
@9to5Escape
@9to5Escape Жыл бұрын
For the bushings, no. The end links might be tough to get to from behind the wheel though.

Love the video. Any reason why you went with MOOG over OEM for the Endlinks & Any reason why you went with OEM over MOOG for the Sway Bar Bushings?

Mostly price. The bushings were cheap and readily available on Amazon with OEM. Moog was cheaper for a not so critical part.
