Alhamdulilah, I memorised a few( 10-20) verses of Surah Baqarah through my mom when I was a kid, in the same way you mentioned.

A3 year old Nigerian girl new all the Quran because her mom waa Qur’an teacher and she used to take her to the madrasah, I think I read it in a newspaper a few years back.

A hafiz is someone who according to The Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessing of Allah be on him) is someone who memorizes and "understands" the "meaning" of the Quran and can use it to tell right from wrong Not someone who just memorizes just the sound 🤷🏻‍♂️

Whats the evidence he said this? Also why put down this kid? In reality a haafidh is someone who has memorised the quran and then 100,000 ahadeeth however nowerdays we refer it to someone who has memorised the quran, its good motivation so leave it that way rather than putting children down, Allahs messenger taught us mercy

@@mohammedalamin9118 Firstly, the evidence you asked for which is your complete right to ask for and my duty to give... In his book "Kitabul-Bayan", Abu Amr ad-Dani narrates the following from Hz. Uthman, Hz. Ibn Mas'ud and Hz. Ubayy by including the chain of narrators: "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) taught the Companions ten verses. They would not move on to the next ten verses unless they learned the issues of deeds related to those ten verses. Thus, the Prophet taught us both the Quran and to practice what is in the Quran together." Secondly, "YOU" made the claim that "I" am putting the kid down!!!...where did I even talk about "this kid"... NO, the problem is you are elevating him to a station in Islam he has not reached yet... Its like giving someone a driving licence before they passed the test Thirdly, "YOU" make the claim that being a hafiz is/was memorizing the Quran and 100,000! Hadiths...! Er... You do know iman Maliks Muttawa only has 1720 hadiths and Sahih Bukhari contains only 7563 hadith... That's still over 90,000 hadiths short according to you!!! 🤷🏻‍♂️ NOW, Can you show evidence for YOUR claims please? From the Quran or accepted sahih Books of Hadiths?

A hafeedz also means protector, memorizing also one way to protect Qur'an from corruption. Rosulullah said that "reciting" Qur'an has a bless in every letter,,
