This is my go-to for special events and on-camera work that doesn’t require me to use foundation! I like being able to see my skin’s texture and color underneath the makeup - it helps me still feel like myself! Also, foundation on my face makes me feel incredibly claustrophobic and has triggered a panic attack on more than one occasion. This feels very sensory-friendly to me!

I don’t wear makeup and I’m used to seeing some lightly self deprecating stuff from you, but this was both VERY VERY charming, and also, w o w so calming actually?!? And very nice to see you genuinely smiling and doing a thing that makes you feel happy and good. I’m really fucking happy for you to have this to feel good about! And it clarifies the beauty that’s already been there the whole dang time!

Elyse I feel like you speak directly to me. I know I found your videos at the exact time I needed them most. As If you weren't already speaking my language, now this vid. I'm 40 and a single mom, just started using day and night time moisturizer. I've worn makeup maybe 4 times in my life. I do love the effect but I hate all the work. Your natural glam look I think I could do because there are few steps, they are easy steps and it doesn't involve putting pounds of makeup on my skin, which my skin violently rejects in the form of breakouts and itchy splotches. Please just keep being you, because your you is so helpful to me ❤

I'm with you on the eye curler thing 😅 but also on the mascara thing for me. I sometimes, when I am bored, and in the mood, will play around with makeup but I refuse to add mascara and/or curl my lashes. 😅 It's just something about it that I am just not willing to learn and practice it. It's a maybe (and depends) on the eyeliner

Same. I hate the feeling of makeup on my skin. Its so gross n why tf is it so greasy?! Honestly disgusting to me.... But when other ppl put it on, it (for the most part 😏) looks fantastic! I wish i knew how to "girl" properly so that too, can stop getting mentally ROCKED with imposter syndrome an not scare men away..... But the basketball shorts, ponytails and buns, and joggers are pretty comfy so 🤷🏽‍♀😂🤣😂🤣 also..... how tf do ppl put on liquid eyeliner and fake eyelashes without completely losing an eye? Fuckin magic, i swear 😂

As a redness sufferer myself, I highly recommend the L’Oréal magic skin beautifier Anti-redness BB cream (why is that name so long?). It’s freakishly GREEN out of the bottle, but changes to match your skin. I use it in place of foundation. It does more heavy lifting than concealer, but has coverage than a foundation. I still use some concealer under eyes (toddler life), but that routine + Lumify does wonders!

Once I dot on concealer, I like to use the ELF “flawless concealer” brush to blend it out. I hold the brush at a 90 degree angle to my face and gently swirl it over the concealer dot. It’s great for blending and then you don’t have concealer on your fingers!

This is so awesome! Thank you for sharing! Because it is almost impossible to not get makeup in your hair from time to time when applying it, a little trick is to just to use a makeup remover wipe to remove it. Also, when you have mascara transfer to your eyelids or anywhere else when applying it, if you wait until it completely dries it will come off much easier by just lightly rubbing it with a dry cotton swab. If you ever do decide to wear some very light eyeshadow, this is especially helpful because then you don't mess up your eyeshadow in the process of trying to remove that mascara.

I want to say, one day you came up on my feed, and i had HORRID acne at the time no matter if it was “that time of the month” or just a average week day. I remember you recommended head and shoulders, which I use to wash my hair because most other shampoos make my scalp hurt. I was mind blown that head and shoulders could be used as a cleanser, so I tried it, thinking “if it made my acne worse whats the difference of it now?” To my surprise, it worked!! Though i am no skin care girlie, you have saved my life! My skin isn’t perfectly clear but i have gotten compliments saying that my skin looks so healthy and it glows! So again, i cant press it enough, thank you. ❤
