Me having ADHD, and just recently getting into crocheting, I can confirm that this is the best route! The first thing I ever crocheted was a little, 1 1/2-2 inch Pascal from Rapunzel, and that got me hooked “No pun intended!”😂😂😂 Currently, I’m working on a blanket for my little cousin Aubrey, but it isn’t a granny square blanket, it’s just a solid blanket, so it’s super easy and I just do the exact same thing over and over again so that I can focus on it ! I know that she said that it’s good to have a new challenge every single time, but with blankets and stuff in my opinion, it’s better to just have a simple, one step blanket, so that you focus on perfecting how to do that one step! Because those of you who feel down about your ADHD and think that you can’t do anything, I know exactly how you feel! One day whenever I was feeling really mad that I had ADHD when I was younger, my mom came in and made me feel better by telling me that ADHD brains are much more sophisticated, than non-ADHD brains, because ADHD brains have the ability to hyper focus on things, which means to focus on something nonstop until it is completely done and perfected! I was diagnosed with ADHD in third grade, and I am now going into eighth grade! And I have lived by those words, and lifted myself up when I was down by thinking of those words ever since my mom told me them! You are unstoppable!❤❤❤❤❤

Unfamiliar situations trigger fear responce, that is normal, like breathing or blinking it's usually not a volountary action. Oh, man. I'm afraid of car washes because I read a story online about someone whose car got caught in whatever track car washes use to move you and broke her car AND HER. The car basically started rattling intensely to the point that it broke all her windows and shook her about while spraying her with water. She kept having back problems afterwards and doctors couldn't find what was wrong until they had her take an x ray while bending over, and that's how they discovered one of her vertebrae was cracked in half. So she wrote the article to warn people. She had a hatchback, which apparently was a common problem at the car wash that the hatchbacks would get stuck. I have a hatchback. Instant lifelong fear. Went to this place that hand washes cars, and the last time I went there, they drove your car through the washing part. After Covid, they refused to get into cars (mind you, this happened this year and not in the middle of the worst of Covid). Even though I was 95% sure there was no track on this car wash, I refused to go in. They had to drive the car for me 😅😮

My daughter and I both got "officially" diagnosed in the last few years and connect so much with your feelings. But listen, it does help. It's not 'necessary' but personally it helped me so much and will help my daughter so much to just understand ourselves and be able to advocate for ourselves. She gets extra support at school I would have loved as a kid. It just matters, it shouldn't be so expensive or so gatekept by medical professionals but it does matter.

Thank you for giving amazing detail to your reviews! Agatha Christie's novels are fabulous, but her short stories are even better. I would highly recommend reading a collection of them, such as Miss Marple and Mystery: The Complete Short Stories (Miss Marple is an absolutely amazing character). The themes may feel a bit over done for us now, but they were revolutionary when they were first published. So much so that she is considered one of the best authors of all time. You can't go wrong with anything she has written!
