I’m so glad you had this positive experience. I can’t even imagine the fatigue of coming out over and over again and the anxiety over the backlash and ignorance you might face. Thank you for sharing! We all need more joy 😊❤

Honestly, it is fatiguing, but then I get days like this. For the most part, I'm well supported and well-loved. These days tend to make all the pain before transition worthwhile. 💜💜💜

@@amethystaherrickOn the micro, it makes my heart happy to see you being supported AS YOU SHOULD BE. Ahem. On the macro, it seems like trans rights and acceptance are both better and worse than 15 years ago when I was an activist in the bi community. I'm quite grateful that the Algorithm Gods fed me your channel.

@skyethebard - RIGHT! I find the same. I came out as transgender in 1994 in Athens, GA, and I was very well accepted. Today I would be worried to go there. Of course, now I present as a woman full-time, and the danger may be greater, but I agree - things are both better and worse than they were. So odd. I'm just as grateful for the Algorithm Gods! I feel like I've made actual friends from this series, and that has been its greatest reward. 💜

@@amethystaherrick Odd, indeed. I don't go to Athens very often but I live in Lawrenceville, GA. I'm a Philly transplant...met my husband at DragonCon '07. Honestly, I miss the northeast. I miss my big, queer Tribe. I hope your channel grows but I think one of the perks of being small is it offers you the chance to make new friends 🙂

Julie - I didn't have a great relationship with my father, and I almost changed my last name when I changed my first! That said, I'm glad we connected - if you ever run in Colorado, I hope I can support a race for you! 💜🏳️‍⚧️🏃‍♀️

@@amethystaherrick I have a couple of cousins in Denver and Longmont, and my uncle keeps trying to persuade me to come run the Boulder Bolder 10k with him. It's on Memorial Day weekend and it's not going to happen this year, but maybe some other year. Take care!

I was happy already today, the sun is shining, there's beautiful flowers in the garden, and I just had a wonderful conversation with my wife.
