It's been a bit chilly up at the layout so I've been checking boxes for vintage Model Railway items to run. See what excellent Tri-ang Hornby time warp treasures I found recently as I checked a couple of boxes I've not looked in for a while. Also I've found the lost Class 20 Wrenn Side Frame so here's how I fixed it up. Thanks for looking

Nice collection. N stands for Noise. So NS is Chuff Chuff and Smoke. Really interesting to see these old items. Let's see the Britannia puffing smoke on the Super 4 layout . 👍 Stay Safe. Mon

Watching you go through the contents of the box reminded me of turning the glossy pages of the TriangHornby catalogue with wonder as a boy. My own std class 7s are of the tender drive variety, as are my 9Fs, although I do have both a Triang class 31 & 37.

Well, Mr Snooze I enjoyed that video very much thankyou. Nice to see the repairs youve done to the Bo Bo. And then a box full of goodies that could have been from my childhood, which for me consisted of Meccano construction kits and Hornby Trains along with Matchbox and Dinky cars. The Only thing missing was a nice old Scalextric car and an Airfix spitfire. 😂 Id love to see that Brittania with some Pullmans please. It was Lovely to see some clock content too. Ive missed seeing clock of the week. All the best Ted.

It has been a little chilly here too Mr. Snooze, windchills down to -37c. but my layout room has maintained +23c. As is usual with you, you have made a great repair on the Wrenn class 20 side frames. The box looks to be a dream come true with all the wonderful items contained within. I have a few Husky models, they were a wonderful collection. Mine have chrome plated plastic underframes with built in springs. I cannot think of anything better than Pullman coaches for the Britannia to pull, I hope you will agree with me. Regards, David.

That is a wonderful box of goodies. I think the Britannia should go with a good rake of blood and custard coaches when run. Nice to see the Meccano pieces as well, that was another of my favourite childhood toys I’ve got the 70s blue and yellow up to set 8. I’d still like to get the full No 10 set but they go for a pretty penny these days, I do have a red slimmer version of the last motor you showed & a couple of modern sets, the Chinese made quality of which isn’t a patch on the English made originals. The Wrenn bo-bo restoration is coming along nicely, like that you left in the minor mishaps. All the best, cheers Rob.

Brilliant video, nice fix on the side peices, lovely selection of old triang locomotives and carriages, the husky car manufacturer was taken over and became part of the corgi range named corgi junior's, the pullmun coaches would look nice behind the britania.

Mr Snooze. 30 minutes of Triang Hornby inspiration... My choice would be to recreate the final 1968 BR mainline steam operation with Oliver Cromwell hauling a mix of maroon /blue-grey Mk1 coaches.

I re-named/re-numbered Tennyson to Oliver Cormwell to do just that! Now I live in Wast Anglia, OC is a bit of a celebrity loco, as after it completed its 15 Guinea Special duties, it was stabled at Diss station for a while, and then ended up at Bressingham Steam Museum for years. After finally being returned to mainline condition, it was the first loco to use the re-commissioned level crossing that re-connected the North Norfolk Railway to the Network Rail line at Sheringham.

Maybe you could either put 70000 back to stock with her original nameplates (thoughtfuly preserved by her original owner), or complete the Job by fitting the cabside transfers and smokebox numberplate? You’re right, it must be one of the very last examples before tender drive, of which I have a very early example. It has an identical chasssis to this one, with flangeless centre drivers and including locomotive pickups and a cut out in the paxolin plate where the drive gear …er… isn’t ! The tender drive is the original Fleischmann copy (I believe the Germans got a bit stroppy about Triang Hornby copying their design of motor!) Clearly in both our models the Margate Factory was using a common parts bin as production of the locodrive models was phased out and the new order came in. My model as far as I remember has its production date on the instructions from July 1971… Looking forward to seeing this hauling a mixed train of blue /grey and maroon MK1’s. However, the one I’m really looking forward to seeing is Winston Churchill, I’ve always wanted one (with smoke of course!). 34051 with a rake of SR green MK1’s and an SR utility van coupled directly behind the tender would be brilliant to see. All the best Rob PS my 70000 may be a factory « one off » it was given to me a couple of years ago after the passing of a distant cousin. As the southern « Branch » of the Forrest cousins and family all hail from the Margate / Ramsgate area, there have been lots of friends who worked at Rovex over the years so Christmas presents were often sourced from the factory. I imagine they had some sort of staff discount scheme back in the day.

If your 7P is tender drive and from 1971 it could be a nice prototype. That's a lovely thing to have with some great local history. I will definitely run a mixed train behind it at some point. Thanks for watching, all the best to you

Note that Meccano went to the trouble of fitting the Pullmans with Gresley bogies rather than BR standard bogies. Attention to detail for the time is amazing.

Snooze, Your videos are never too long. Perhaps it might be a good idea to plate the handrails on the EE Type 1, and if inspection suggests a model is mint and has not run, as do the wheels on the 'Oliver Cromwell', refrain from running them??? Just a suggestion. Also, as the 'Brit' name plates are still there, it might be possible to reinstate. Also, today I saw the new 'Rapio' N scale model of the Co-Bo. See if you can find one to look at. It is everything the HD one was arguably not, though we must remember what is now sixty years. Just don't bring your wallet. Specially note the glazing and how it sets the whole effect. Thanks and best wishes. Pete
