Pro Tip: If you're not sure why your ogg files are just causing strange crashes and freeing memory that doesn't exist/doesn't belong to it, you're probably using Tremor to decode ogg files. For PS Vita, if you're not building a customer fixed implementation of Tremor, you want to be using the vorbis decoder.
RELEASE DATE: VERY SOON.
I will be making a video showing you guys how to install this for the first time. I highly recommend you not do it over FTP, as there are a lot of small files that need to be transferred.
Current Tech Stack:
Video: Custom 2D vitaGL renderer using shaders. (What effects should I add? Hmmm)
Audio: SDL_Mixer_Ext: Wohlstand's custom SDL_Mixer with tons of new features and audio support.
Input: SDL2
SDL2 is used for most everything in the game multimedia related EXCEPT for video. This isn't some hack either, this is actually a supported way to use SDL. by passing everything to SDL except for the init video flag, you can use your own custom video renderer while maintaining SDL for audio & input.
This means you get ALL the benefits of SDL: including input management & remapping.

It's looking like the Vita is ready to take over its predecessor as a homebrew/emulation machine and I think that's just wonderful.

Personally, I agree wholeheartedly. Hands down, the Vita is more powerful and supposedly has a PSP MIPS CPU onboard to handle that instead of emulating, so the backwards compatibility is pristine. However, I will say, the PSP has a smaller footprint and is still very comfortable to hold. Something else that's nice about the PSP is that it does truly have full size dpad and face buttons and they feel just as good as an OG dualshock. I still think the Vita reigns supreme in my opinion especially with dual joysticks. I don't think the PSP homebrew scene is going to die just yet, but the Vita is surprisingly easy to port for considering it has more RAM and CPU cores to throw around than the PSP AND it's a modern ARM architecture. Not to mention actual working implementations of SDL2 and tons of other libraries.

@@IgnoreSolutions I am sure that diehard PSP enthusiasts will keep it running for ages still. I think the Vita has some road ahead before we see it blossom but the potential of lower prices for it in the near future + the unique touch controls situation could really give it some potential in ways people still haven't explored. Time will tell but I am cautiously optimistic.
