When I created this music video in 2005 I didn't have my own KZfaq account, so several fans of the video uploaded it for me to various sites including KZfaq. One copy on KZfaq had 350,000 views before it was removed in 2010. Another copy is still here with more than 1,000,000 views. But those are all older versions, uploaded before KZfaq supported HD video and high quality stereo audio. So I went back to the original project files and created this wide-screen HD version.
The original video description is on my web site, along with an MP3 file of the audio track, plus sheet music you can download free for all the parts:
www.ethanwiner....
Enjoy!

I'm one of the people who saw it back in 2005, and I thought it was pretty amazing then. Even now, with an extra 11 years of cello playing under my belt, I still really love this piece, and the sheer effort that must have gone into creating it.

Still love coming back to this, though it's a different one than when I first saw it, I believe the Trevor version. It makes me happy every time. It's actually one of the first videos that got me into KZfaq so many years ago, I want to say somewhere around 2007 or so. Until then I had never really paid much attention or really appreciated KZfaq much. Then I stumbled across this gem and have been going down KZfaq rabbit holes ever since.

Beautiful composition and playing. As someone who is beginning cello at age 67 (but longtime amateur upright bass player), your project is both inspiring and daunting. I heard about this wonderful piece from drummer David Finlayson. Prior to the interruption by the pandemic, David and I played together regularly in a jazz group.

Excellent. Why speak about "Pianos guy" ? Here, it's a clip from Ethan Winer. He plays cello, and its amazing. Excellent. Qu'est-ce que c'est que ces comparaisons au sujet des "Pianos guys" ? On s'en tape, Ethan joue du violoncelle merveilleusement bien, avec sensibilité et humour. Bravo.

Now, there's a guy who loves music! Congratulations on all aspects of this project, Ethan! Might amuse you to know that rock star / songwriter / singer / soundtrack performer Matt Nathanson went out for a couple years with just a duo--himself on acoustic guitars and Matt Fish on cello. Fish did a brilliant job of a baritone counterpoint during the tune, then played 'lead guitar' in a different register. A whole band in one instrument!

Fantastic! I have never seen a cello pushed so far. Can I suggest that you consider posting this video on the videosongsblog website (google it) Everything posted there has to show how all the sounds are created within the video. There is a lot of brilliantly inventive stuff there and I think Cello Rondo would fit right in and introduce your talent to a new audience. By the way, I have nothing to do with this site. Either way - I loved your video.
@PoorlyJudged
@PoorlyJudged 12 жыл бұрын
@EthanWiner I read on the site that you can't directly upload. They decide what to feature but I suggest you announce your video on their forum. That seems to be the custom. They will then feature it if they like it. My guess is they will, but that is just my guess. The website is an independent thing running on the back of the videosongs phenomena, as far as I can tell. You can also post a video as a youtube reply to one of the more popular videosongs out there and see what happens. cheers
