This song is great. A long trombone melody doesn't happen often. The trombone part is fun to play with all the glissandos, too!

Jenny Akers, I actually try to make sure most of my pieces move the melody around and that everyone has interesting parts. I'm not going to say I'm 100% successful all the time, but that is the goal. Anyway, enjoy!

My director is from a military family and so he was born in Germany. Well, he told us the story of Krampus before giving us the piece and having us listen to it. The entire band was completely speechless afterwards because it sounds so amazing.

The band at our school (Harrisburg High School)played this at our Christmas concert last year and it was my absolute favorite piece. The parts where the band had to scream was like my mini solo and by the time the concert was over my voice hurt like crazy but I loved every second of it. Truly the best piece you've ever written Mr. S.

Thank you, Kurt. I am definitely an admirer of Danny Elfman and wear those influences on my sleeve (see The Witching Hour). I don't know who the narrator is , as I was not at the recording/mixing sessions, but I agree tthat he is pretty amazing. Thanks again and I'm glad you enjoyed the piece.

I played this a year ago. The 7th and 8th graders played the song but the 6th graders didn't and they did the screaming part. We never practiced with the screams and the whole band jumped at how loud it was. My friend in the audience dropped her phone cause she got spooked. Despite the scare, it was great to play.

@randallstandridge
@randallstandridge 7 жыл бұрын
Band music is graded on a 6 tier system, grade 1 being the easiest and grade 6 being the hardest. This one falls between grade 2 and 3. It simply means the difficulty and is in no way tied to the age level of the performers; some advanced groups can play easier pieces and vice versa. Hope this helps!
