Hello everyone! This will most likely be the last animation I ever create on this channel... because I will be moving to traditional narrations with myself on-screen for you to all make fun of :D Yes, you heard correctly. Because of my busy college schedule, making videos only using animation has become too time-consuming, so I will be transitioning to a more traditional style of film-making, with some of my animations woven into the video, just not appearing its entirety. The next video might take some time since I am getting together all my gear, and I need to find a suitable location to film since my dorm room is cramped and messy, but the one-video-per-month schedule should remain in effect. I will also be covering my goals for the channel as a whole, where I think it is going, and future projects. I also want to personally thank all of my supporters for making this channel something I can be proud of and look forward to working on.

it's not just you, I think a lot of people have been having issues with youtube this year. You rock man, your videos are really great and you seem super educated on all of your topics. I would just say that your B roll of walking on the sidewalk with the snow made your text hard to read. Keep up the amazing content.

So why would you use MS ICE instead of Lightroom to compose the pano? What are it's benefits? The obvious negative is that you would lose having the pano in Adobe's native raw format going forward.
@sahirsujahudeen5558
@sahirsujahudeen5558 5 жыл бұрын
Lightroom adjustments are automatic. Doesn't really give you the flexibility and preferences as ICE would. Plus, the pre-installed panorama tool in LR is not too accurate and can fail (I noticed this in astrophotos primarily). ICE's algorithms do produce quite seamless transitions however; and it's free! You could always export it as a PSD, rather than tiff

@cpirius 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was confused as to the reasoning for ICE... I mean, it seems cool, but more work. Maybe if Lightroom doesn't work for some photos? Good to have another option. But I've made dozens of pano's from handheld shots in Lightroom with zero issues....
@Apalapse
@Apalapse 5 жыл бұрын
Lightroom works 99% of the time, but ICE is simply more powerful and will stitch them better. I have had many panoramas that have not stitched at all in LR or PS but have done just fine in ICE. Since it's free I see no downside in using it. It's my personal workflow and many others recommend using it, but if LR works for you, then by all means, use it. In fact, using LR is simpler since you don't have to export in-between the whole editing process.

Microsoft ICE is so fast compared to lightroom, my panoramas usually take more than 2 hours in lightroom and only 5 minutes in ICE

i found lens wider then 18mm on APS-C with distortion is difficult to stitching....
@Apalapse
@Apalapse 4 жыл бұрын
You may have to take more images with greater overlap so that the distotion can be minimized. In some of my astro-panoramas (panoramas of the milky way), I have to use almost a 50% overlap because vignetting is so pronounced on my lens. Let me know if you need any wide-angle lens recommendations for APS-C.

I am coming back don't worry. I was doing an internship over the summer so I couldn't upload, and I just moved back to campus in an apartment, which means I can get a studio and start recording myself. I am also working on a website which has all my videos transcribed as well as some gear reviews I have been working on. I will be launching all these come 2020 (at the latest).

MS ICE was last updated in 2015. Is it possible that it's better than the current Photoshop panorama tool? I haven't had any issues with hand held panoramas.
@Apalapse
@Apalapse 5 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I noticed that as well, but I'm not sure that that type of technology really changes all that much. I should do a comparison of all the panorama-stitching softwares.

Nodal slider will not be enough for multi rows panorama. You need real panoramic head for this.
@Apalapse
@Apalapse 4 жыл бұрын
A nodal slide will definitely help even in a multi row panorama. A nodal slide centers the camera lens' nodal point (the spot where light rays converge inside the glass) over the rotation axis of the tripod/ball head setup. Merely tilting the camera does not change the position of the camera and lens setup over the ball head if the tilt it done precisely. Of course, a panoramic head does make things easier since there are more functions to only adjust specific axes of the setup, but even with a ball head you can make due as long as you have a nodal slide implemented.
@TimurKaramov
@TimurKaramov 4 жыл бұрын
Apalapse you must be kidding. As soon as you tilt you will offset the nodal point immediatedly. Try yourself or compare design of miltirow panoramic head with a simple nodal planc and tripod ballhead.

I'm working on it. I'm a college student so my schedule is extremely busy and it's hard to work KZfaq into my life. I have actually been working on a website behind the scenes that I plan on rolling out soon along with a new channel intro, an updated patreon page, and another video. Right now, I am just trying to build the set where I film and it has been a struggle buying the right gear (microphones, sound proofing foam, external monitors, receivers, etc.) on a budget. I would say that you should expect new content from me in the next month.

Instead of using Microsoft software. One can use the Adobe Photoshop.

Both work extremely well! I just thought since Microsoft ICE was free it would be a better choice. Also, some panoramas I have had trouble stitching in photoshop and those panos have stitched just fine in ICE.
