I'm a 40 year old man who didn't ever read any comic books. Now I have a kid who loves to read, especially manga, and I'm trying to share his passion. And I must admit that I'm enjoying it quite a bit... But damn, it's hard to even get a grip on how I'm supposed to catch up. I have read some lose superman and marvel issues. I have killing joke, watchmen, and uncanny x-men from the ashes. There just too many x-men books to ever be able to catch up. I started with from the ashes because I found it used and am horrified by the prices of these books XD The mountain ahead of me is steep.

Pick what looks good or gets good reviews, and enjoy what you're reading without letting yourself be bothered by all the past stories. A good writer should be able to make you understand what's going on without you having read a whole bunch of past stories. Maybe House of X / Powers of X is a good starting point for what's currently going on in the x-books, and you don't need to have read anything else before that one.

I agree with Johan, pick what you enjoy. There are some great books still in print that I could recommend. I have been asked to start a segment about the best jumping on point for characters. So I can answer questions like this in detail.

@@johandelpire7290 I might just give those a try, thank you. I have used Marvel Unlimited to read digital issues of the very first few X-men. It's often hilarious but maybe not as well developed as modern comic books.

This is awesome. Thank you. One question, why are the issues 41-59 missing? As far as I've seen they have been collected only in the "Essential X-Factor" volumes, or is there any other collection (please let there be any other form they are collected in ;)

The period between X-Men Omnibus vol. 2 by Claremont and Lee and Fatal Attractions would make a great Map My X episode. So many stories. So many teams and comics. It needs to be sorted out so the fans have hope that we’ll one day see it in an omnibus. That would make great KZfaq.

With Excalibur and New Mutants omnis on the horizon pretty much every X-title from that era has been omnied except for X-Factor. I'd buy them if they produced them. Of course, I'd prefer to buy Peter David X-Factor omnis. I wonder is they might do them after the Hulk run finishes. We can only wait and see. Great video again Omar. Thanks Omar. Good to know I’m not missing anything except the annual crossovers. I can’t want for UXM vol 5 or prologue to mutant massacre to get the first 8 issues of xfactor oversized. We do need an omni of PAD’s Xfactors runs and I mean both his runs.

Better have those early issues in UXM Vol 5. And we could use a Judgement War OHC similar to Shattershot 😉. And personally I’d be happy with more Epics for the end of the series with the Jeff Matsuda art and all.

Completely agree with this, keep the original team in the X-Men titles - X-Factor Omniboo should start with #71 as X-Factor by David, DeMatteis and Dezago Omnibus

The X-Factor TV show had Nothing to do with mutants. It was closer to America's Got Talent... a reality show involving singing & the like. Maybe you were thinking about the tv show Mutant X?

If you watch the other ones you can overlap them pretty easily. It's also not too hard to just look at the back of each book and see what issues are in each one and find where each book fits better based on that, regardless of how difficult it may SEEM. For example: If "Book A" collects X-Men 12-25, X-force 6-9 & X-Factor 14 and "Book B" collects X-Men 26-35, X-Force 8-14 & X-Factor 15, then you know book A goes before book B because the issues line up nicely, even if you end up double dipping with two issues of X-Force. Hope that makes sense lol

Great video as always, just a few notes: 1.- You say that X-Factor Annual 3 is collected in the Evolutionary War Omnibus and that it will be collected in the upcoming epic 3, but you can also find it in the Inferno Prologue Omnibus. So it is triple dipping. 2.- Part of X-Factor Annual 5 (Days of Future Present) is collected in tp format in the Fantastic Four Epic Collection : Into the Timestream and it will also be collected in the upcoming New Mutants Epic Collection: Cable

Thank's Omar great video, as for your questions I want Marvel to finish collecting X-Factor issue's #1-70 alongside Uncanny X-men of the same era in omni/ohc and we're so close, as for X-Factor issue's #71-149 I think 2 omnibus should be enough and would be awesome, can't wait for part 2.

As for xfactor 1-70 along with uncanny in omni or hc I think is pretty impossible.. After mutant massacre (and xfactor 9) Uxm has all been already reprinted in those volumes and there is just a little gap in xfactor issues to fill.. Don't think marvel would split and already existing book to add those issues in two volumes..

@@fabioriccardo9290 Most of Xfactor 1-70 is already collected with xmen we only need 2 more books probably uncanny omni vol5 and an ohc that recolects the xtinction agenda as the og ohc is oop and add xfactor issue 41-59 and the days of future present and some other mutant related issues and we will have all of xfactor 1-70 collected with xmen in 7 omni/ohc.

@@fabioriccardo9290 Could please try again to explain what your trying to tell me because for me its as simple as putting x-factor 1-8, avengers 263 and fantastic four 285 in uncanny x-men omnibus vol5 and making a x-tinction agenda omnibus with the contents being x-factor 41-62 annual 5, uncanny x-men 235-238 and 270-272 annual 14, new mutants 95-97 annual 6, fantastic four annual 23 and maybe few extra issues of new mutants and or the uncanny x-men, x-factor and new mutants annuals that tie into Atlantis Attacks.

Could you list the Uncollected issues up to xtinction agenda? I've basically all the same volumes that you have shown (fallen angels being the hc and not the tpb) and I'm wondering when and how I will be able to complete the serie..

Unfortunately, in the Atlantis attack Omnibus the Best part of the Annual is not collected in there (Magneto vs Doctor Doom) the only part that it is collected is the Atlantis part...

I’ll ask this again in an upcoming episode chat if you miss it here but just wanted to try here first in case it got lost in the shuffle during the liveshow: Does the corrected Silver Surfer omni have a new ISBN or just new product code? I ask b/c IST’s current SS omni listing has a product code identical to the corrected one listed by Diamond on their site and Bleeding Cool’s list of forthcoming omni restocks but with the same ISBN-13 listing as Amazon’s current stock.

Is Mephisto vs. X-factor (et al.) entirely skippable? Not mentioned anywhere in the ongoing x-series of that time? If it is, I don't have to spend money on it, it doesn't look like a very good story so I'd rather skip it, but I could be mistaken.
