Thanks for the vid Glen. Really appreciate it. My dad found a beat up falcon when he was a tradie working in a roof in Sydney in the 80s. He spent hours that night cleaning it up (to my mum's disgust!) and its been with him ever since. Guess that's why I love em so much. Take care brother.

Good vid. Yes many people seem to have fond memories of pipes and my own Grandfather had a Falcon. I didn’t realise you could still get but apparently you can, so I have just ordered two stems and some bowls. I think what intrigues me most is it looks like an engineers pipe and was probably pretty cutting edge back then….probably still is in many ways. Nording are doing something similar now called Keystone Pipes but with plastic or nylon bowls and stem. The bowl itself has an S shaped divider where you put absorbent beads. They come in various colours with changeable screw on bowls.

Falcon pipes are awesome workhorses. I have 5 of them with different bowls. I really like the bent stems with the dental grip as I can really get a hold of them when working, clenching them. Great video mate and take care :)

I'm so excited. I got a bent stem and a couple of bowls. I've been watching videos from all the guys that have them to study up on how they work, because I am a HUGE nerd. The pipe collection is upwards of 35 now. I've really gotten into it! I've also got nearly a bookshelf full of good 'baccy. Hope you are well my friend!

What do you think about the Dr Grabow, Viking pipe; which is kind of like a falcon? Are they the same in size for the bowl? I am sure that the bowl threads are different from the looks of it. Great video very informative thanks.

@leftyme45684 ай бұрын
I cut up pipecleaners all the time for my cobs. justt cut them at about an inch (well...3 centimeters) and put 2 of those in the pipe. Works just as good as the 6 mm filters. Just ordered my first Falcon....cant wait to get it.
@DropbearWoodworks4 ай бұрын
Great idea! Hope you get many hours of enjoyment out of your falcon. Just a tip, try not overpack your bowl and tamp as least as possible or you block up your pipe. Easy to fix but better to avoid. Cheers!

Anyone have any experience with a meerschaum lined Falcon bowl? I am curious as to whether I can smoke it every day and interchange tobaccos. I want to purchase one as a travel pipe.
@PipeCat19655 жыл бұрын
I have one. It really does not ghost, so I smoke whatever I want in it. Just have to clean it well between bends. But you probably know that by now. Sorry for late reply - just saw your message today.

is falcon bowl fit to the ronson(stem) pipe....??tx :)
@DropbearWoodworks7 жыл бұрын
Hi Mario. I have never seen a Ronson pipe up close so I can not give you a definitive answer but I have heard talk that they resemble a Dr. Grabow Viking. You would have to get both to make a determination for yourself. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Howdy Glen, I maybe wrong but isn't Falcon owned by an Australian.I have a Falcon and I also have a Twin Flow that was my grandfather's (a cheaper look alike copy of the Falcon) both are great pipes.
@DropbearWoodworks9 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure who owns them now. Pipedia wasn't that precise but I have heard the same thing Rod. If an Aussie does own them, I'd be curious as to why they are still being manufactured in the UK and not here in Oz. I've never seen a twin bore before. How does it smoke?
@978Good9 жыл бұрын
My grandfather didn't take care of his pipes very well. The twin flow bowl was so caked up I had to drill it out before I could even try to ream it. The stem was broke off in the shank and rest missing, which the stem is the only part that's twin bored. It smokes great with the stem I made but I'd like to make one that would be more like the original.

The utility pipe of the world. They are handy and versatile. Personally, I dislike the stems, I think they are ugly as ass, but they do work really well.
@DropbearWoodworks5 жыл бұрын
PipeCat I can’t disagree with you on that. That’s where falcons let themselves down but for something that costs $20-30 who’s complaining....? Not me. Thanks for watching and commenting.
