Is balancing a 12ft cedar pole on a hydraulic jack freaky? Yup! But it's the only way we could think to take the sag out of the Sky Deck.

Proper stairway to heaven...Start at the ground along side the sky deck... build a staircase all the way up to or through the sky deck and beyond. 2 boards thick, stitched to make it way longer than it should be. Build it at an angle so it gets narrower and narrower until it meets at a point or one last step. It has to be ridiculously tall, beyond the trees 😂.

It was very relaxing to watch your sling tournament! I could have followed for hours, immersed in the good natured rivalry and low-intensity spectacle. And yeah! The SkyDeck... You should build more, ever higher and higher. And then connect everything with wooden and rope bridges, them wire-slide-thingies, bucket mail delivery systems, can phones etc. Add rails and holds and fences and such for safety, And build at least one good fireplace up there somewhere! Walls, roofs, plumbing... Isn't that everybody's dream!?

I remember working on my bicycle as a kid and leaving dad's tools on the ground and as soon as I fixed it off I would go riding only to hear my dad saying the next week where's my wrench. I think a lot of us are guilty of losing our father's tools at one time.

In the early 1950's when I was about 6 or 7, my grandfather made a sling almost like that except he had made a small hole in the "pouch" to allow the stone to set better. I played with that thing until I was in my 30's when the leather finally became too brittle and the cords began to break. Give me a barn wall and might be able to hit it!! 😄

You need to build an outdoor kitchen with a roof over it. You need a place to cook and eat when it is raining or snowing. You could screen it in. You could build it on a floor or just have a dirt floor.

Love the teamwork. Glad the skydeck continues to live. I have a feeling that the sling doesn’t have to be accurate. Just get the rock in the right direction and you would scare the hell out of anyone or anything that was coming to attack you. The solid clucks into the trees really make you cringe. Cheese on the deck and meat on the grill… what more could you want. Thanks for sharing!

Nice to see Tido's skills being used, we never get to see his capabilities, and his log cabin build (rather slow), probably because he still has to live & work in the 'real world' lol!-I was wondering when you'd get back to doing something with the sky deck! Easy-could've prepared us and said "TIMBER" , that log could've hit us!! When you take the bark off the cedar trees, they look so a -pealing :)! -I'm not a caveman -just look like one! Great video on Sling-shotting!

Was that "like a couple of pros" or bros. lol The later is true, at least. Good job! And no one got hurt and no tools or equipment damaged. The bonus is that the sky deck is pretty solid and may last another 4 years. The cedar roots do probably supply some moisture to the bark and cambium. They look pretty cool stripped all the way into the earth. Good job teaching Tito how not to slice his tongue off or in two. I thought you were doing pretty good with the slingshot. It takes a lot of practice to get really accurate and consistent.

Now you know how supernatural it was when David killed Goliath. It was God that guided the smooth stone from the brook to right between the giant's eyes in his forehead. I think you need a major project like a deck /beer garden or a shed to your cabin for changing your boots n work clothes. Or adding a screen door to the front its a pretty common feature up north n keeps heat in in winter n also cool breezes in the summer n its pretty simple to make. B ut still be nice to have beer garden slash fire pit for when family n friends come n visit though you got the gazebo already or maybe a lean to shed off your cabin some how Im thinking of doing something similar myself like a garage type thing for vehicles in the winter as it gets brutally cold here in the winter. N maybe ad a comfy wood stoveroom n hey they wanna stop gas stoves and such so keep that in mind that would really suck for a lot of people in the colder winter months.
