Penguin With A Mac 10 apparently my friend isn’t the one who has trouble comprehending text. The comic sans is easier for her to read because of its formatting being especially dyslexia friendly. She changes her essay to standard tnr before she submits but during the actual composition has an easier time if it’s comic sans. Don’t be a jerk just because it’s trendy to hate a font, you sheep.

"Foundue" doesn't exist in french. Maybe "Fondue" is what you're looking for, and it's a dish consisting of croûtons dipped in a pot of molten cheese and white wine. The french word for foundry is simply "Fonderie". But in reality, the term "Font" is derived from the french "Fonte" which designates the action of founding a batch of letters

Time for a fun fact that everyone in this comment section has probably said by now: Comic Sans is actually used by a lot of people to make sure they're not too hard on themselves (so obviously a lot of the writers using this struggle with that) when writing (ofc they change the font when they send it out) because let's be honest it's kind of hard to be hard on yourself when you're writing in the goofiest font in the universe. I started using this myself and it honestly has made me more confident when writing, I can't say I've finished any stories using this method but that's more a lack of motivation when the initial excitement dies down :/

I live in Washington State, where marijuana is legal. I once came across one dispensary that has its logo (and most of the signs) done in Comic Sans. Don't do graphic design when you are stoned. It rarely turns out well.

I personally don't have too much of an issue with Comic Sans, when it's used appropriately. Children's books, birthday cards, even an informal letter; I don't see an issue with it. Personally, I am disgusted with Times New Roman, it's an ugly font. But I have to use it for college and I find that depressing that font is so heavily policed in that circumstance. I love Book Antiqua and after that Georgia. I like Helvetica sometimes, too. And the whole hype about Arial font is lost on me. I find it to be a rather cold, emotionless font and I hate that it's the standard for Microsoft Office software.

InkBird Same. I used to use Tahoma as my default font on my old business' marketing stuff. Its easier to read than other fonts I'm aware of, so it had the subtle side-effect of encouraging casual skimmers to read further. >:D

When playing Undertale I realized that Comic Sans was a neat easy to read font unlike Papyrus (Another prominent font in that game even more so the Comic Sans) in fact one point at the very end of the Papyrus Date where he "Confesses his Feelings" I was having trouble reading even though it was using Black/White contrasting (More so on repeat runs due to eyesight) This does not change my opinion on Sans and Papyrus the skeletons

The letters kept in the lower case were called "sorts" because you had way more of them and had to sort through them. You might, for example, run out of "e"s in which case you'd be "out of sorts" (the origin of this phrase.)

When I was a child I liked to get my laptop and write short stories, the font I used was comic sans. I still remember scrolling to tons of fonts but I didn't like any, till I selected comic sans. Nowadays, I was taught to hate comic sans, but deep down in my heart, I still love it.

Comic Sans is like shorts. You can wear them anywhere you want except for a formal meeting. Then you need a suit or a dress etc. But that doesn't mean shorts are useless, ugly things.

It's one of the few easily legible fonts that I like to use! (Calibri, Arial and Times New Roman are fine for most things!) At one point when you said 'Comic sans' I almost misheard it as 'Common sense'!! One of the complaints I have about everything since Window 98 is that I lost some of the fonts I liked to use!! (And all the unnecessary complications that have been added - or useful things that have been lost) Now I'm used to Windows 7, and hear it's soon to be discontinued/no longer updated. I do hope the Internet remains compatible with it for years to come. By the time my computer needs replacing I think Windows 10 and whatever follows it might have also become outdated. There used to be a nice clear 'outline' font which was great on Paint when you want big letters for a sign where you can colour them in. There were also fonts on Windows 98 with pictures on them which were lost when I put the document on Windows 7. The only way to get those little picture symbols back was to save them as picture files on the Windows 98 computer and transfer the picture files and add them back onto the document on Windows 7. Eventually I thought how tedious, I'll just pick new pictures or patterns instead!

Comic Sans is a perfectly fine font for what it's intended for: writing comics and for material that appeals to children/families. But using it on business cards, city property and "serious" writing is like a surgeon using a bread knife. It's not the tool that's the problem, it's the user.
