I have a 3 door and the issue in tight parking spaces is easily overcome by lowering the window before exiting/entering the car. Sounds like a weird solution but it actually works. Although in my 4 years of ownership i've only had to do it a handful of times.

The 3 door 1 series have really long doors - a bit of a pain in tight parking spaces as they swing out really wide. Looks better than the 5 door though. 3 series touring all the way for me!

5 door, I had enough of the issues in the past with 3 door coupes.

I think the 3 door looks a bit better, unfortunately I needed a 5 door due to having kids.

Never considered a 3 door, even though it's just me and the Mrs 90% of the time I still use the rear doors for cramming shopping and stuff in. So if you don't mind pulling the seat forward all the time or using the boot (even though we've all got car/cleaning supplies in there right?) Then the 3 door would be good. Personally I see the m140i as the more practical hot hatch with 5 doors though so if you want 2 a door get the 240i, BUT I hate the look of that so.... Well fuck I haven't got anywhere with this 😅 Leg room in the back is abysmal as well even with the 5 door so don't plan on taking adult passengers 😂 Came from a 2011 3 series sedan and don't think I fully appreciated how much smaller the back seats and boot was

ouff tough one. Both look good! For me the 3 doors goes a bit more back to the Z3M Coupe kind of look! Very beautifull. I have a 5 doors and its looks stunning as well and good if you have kids :).

Looks - 3 door, practicality - 5 door, depends on your stage in life. Ask yourself the same question in 10 plus years when you have snots in tow 😀👍

Either just depends on your needs if you've got kids then definitely a 5dr if not and it's just you and the Mrs then 3dr....great cars either way just depends on your needs

When I was in the market for an M140i, I wanted a 5 door but ended up with a 3 door (spec specific) and I really couldn't get my head around the looks, big arch gaps - looked a little out of proportion. I always wish I waited for a 5 door, which looks looks better than a standard 3 door but since I've had mine lowered, spaced out, chunkier tyres and the arches are filled... I think the 3 door actually looks a lot better, especially as the crease along the side and rear arches on the 3 door seem more emphasised... Z3M Coupe vibes!
