Cube steak is my favorite meal. Got to have mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans. Biscuits are a must also. You had the perfect little too. Levi is getting so big and such a cutie.

I heard you say that when you fry the cube steaks on the stove, sometimes they're tough. A little trick for that is to soak them in some buttermilk for a few hours. I've even done it overnight and they come out so tender

✍🏼Hello Leslie...My family loves cube steak made with onion gravy. The only real difference is that I bake mine in the oven cause, I've never used a crockpot. I had one and never used it so I gave it away. Your little helper Levi is really cute. So nice to have your whole family together for supper. Good Night😴 God Bless LuvYa! Bye from Ohio🌹

I love garlic in mine too and so does my family. I am 74/Y/o so I don’t cook much any more. I sure do miss all the kids! I had 4 two boys and two girls. Now my husband has passed and the kids are all moved away. 😢😢

Hi, Leslie! Yes, I sent that whisk. It is for sauces, gravies as you are using. Nice to scrape as you cook the flour( roux). You have a great memory! Cubed steak and gravy(I add onions to cook in the gravy) is a favorite but have not had it in ages. Looked delicious!

The crockpot is the only way to do cube steak IMO! So many crockpot cube steak recipes call for 6-8 hrs on low but mine is always nice n tender n good to go in 3-4 hrs on low, after 8 hrs it would look like saw dust!

I love the idea of cooking the steak and putting in crockpot, because, then you can clean up before your family comes for dinner. I am not really a fan of frying either because of the mess! Thanks for sharing!!

Hope u r well. I've had a rough week with a lot of pain. Dr changed my muscle relaxer to help with the pain. Started today and right now seems to be helping, well until my physical therapist came out to do my exercises...lol. Keeping u in my prayers always. Love Susan E.

Cube steak is my favorite, too! The only difference in the way I make it is that I use the mushroom gravy mix in the pouch. 😊😊😊

I have a kitchen counter area out in my garage and I do my frying out there in my electric frying pan. I have cardboard up on the wall behind it. I love it. No mess in my house kitchen. I also have a large toaster oven out there as well to bake in so I don't heat up the house. 😊

You should get round steak and ask the butcher to cube it two times...once sideways and once lenthwise... You'll get the best cubed steak ever...give it a try

Thanks for sharing....I made this the first time you shared it and my family loved it!!!! Like you said, I always have trouble getting cubed steak tender but with this recipe, that's not an issue. I served it with mashed potatoes,green beans and rolls to make it a simple supper. Blessings from Eastern Kentucky Congrats on the upcoming bundle of blessing.....nothing on earth like those grands!

Sorry to comment late, I’m catching up on missed episodes today. When you make your gravy, are you using the flour you dredged your cube steak in? I always do, then add additional flour as necessary. I’ve always used a combination of water, milk, and sometimes cream before I pour it in the crockpot. I will definitely try using broth next time. Thank you for the tip.

Cube steak is my families favorite too! I put mine in the crockpot as well. I was in Massachusetts visiting my daughter recently and was asked by a friend what was my specialty dish. When I said “cube steak”, the reaction was a questioning stare. Apparently, my friends had never heard of cube steak. So my next visit will entail a supper party with cube steak as the entree. lol

Leslie, you can buy splatter screens to fit over your frying and. There’re round and have a handle. My mother said the same thing you did about frying, especially bacon!! They really work, reduces a lot of mess. 💕🙏🙏

I use milk in my gravy. And I scrape the bit out in between batches so they don't burn.. Then add back for the gravy. 😊 I've never tried putting them in the slow cooker.. I'll be trying that next time. So hard to find nice cube steak where I live.. Always has too much of the stringy skin or whatever it's called running through it 😕
