My young son got a tick and we tried everything Drs and clinics and nurses suggested. Nothing even fazed the tick a little bit. So I grabbed the little bottle of tea tree oil and upended it on the tick. That tick backed out of there instantly and completely. I could almost see the dust!!

You can also try Vicks Rub on his feet, with socks and heat for better absorption that helps with cough. There's also marshmallows, chew it for a while, to break it down, and its the gelatin that helps suppress the cough.

I've been giving him nebulized hydrogen peroxide along with NAS. He is dehydrated, but at least he is drinking. His appetite is all but gone, but he eats a little now and then. His doctor said to use Robittusin or Delsym for the cough. He has no other symptoms except the cough, and he's extremely weak. My wife and I had the exact same thing, but it only lasted two days. The cough is lingering, but that's all. I'll try the Vick's as well, and I've also been using tea tree oil in our essential oils diffuser for him.

2 yrs ago i took my short-haired Viscla-Pittie mix dog to the vet for a 2 cm growth on her back. She was scheduled for $1800 surgery the next week when my neighbor told me to try rubbing tea tree oil on it. She said she put it on the brown spots on her husband's bald head that he got from playing golf 2-3x week without a hat. I started massaging it full strength 2x a day on the growth and area around it. Within 2 weeks, a scab was forming over the growth. Within 3 weeks the scab started to just flake off along with all her hair on the skin around it wherever I'd rubbed the oil. Her hair eventually grew back but her skin stayed completely clear & healthy. The growth never returned.

Good advice Doctor. I have been using Tea tree oil since the 80's. I did a skin test on myself back then with no bad reaction. Cursed with chronic sinus problems... I actually lightly moisten a qtip with the oil & run a line of it just above both eyebrows, down either side of nose, behind each ear & down each side of my neck to the glands just under my chin. If my chest is congested, I put it on my chest also. Just 1 or 2 drops per location. Hope that helps someone.

My advice for essential oils is to stick to the organic ones, and "chemo-typed"-I. e. chemically tested for their main components, checking the cultivars : any "thyme" won't "do" for anything, or anyone, some lavenders are epileptogenic, etc... As for CHRONIC sinus complaint, I tested a "natural" sulfur cure, that is a 1/4 small clove of raw garlic swallowed like a pill with water, after dinner. No chewing, and irrespective of garlic content in food, etc... Depending on sensitivity, and how long the complaint has been lasting, it might take 10 to 15 days, and you may have a few gassy mornings, but sooner or later, I ended up blowing the fowlest old stuff from deep in my cheeks, and all the way from my gum area... When I ache bending down, during a cold, I know it's time for a little course again👍👍👍! No magic though, as an antiseptic AND anti-inflammatory, garlic saved lives since middle ages, all the way up to WWI, before antibiotics, against gangrene, pneumonia, U name it...

Well I was developing an upper respiratory tightness, and with asthma and other health issues I was getting a bit concerned. I decided to rub Vapor Rub on my chest and around the rim of my nose. Within 2 days my chest cleared up but I continued putting it on my nose throughout the day and night and have noticed I hardly need my asthma inhaler. It's amazing all the things I grew up with that actually worked & didn't break the bank like Vick's vapor rub, etc. You hear nothing about it at all now. When having a fever, mom would dab a little rubbing alcohol on a slightly moistened washcloth & start rubbing us kids down to bring a fever down. and "yes" it worked then & still works now. I brought many a fevers down on my son starting when he was little. 3-5 dabs of rubbing alcohol on a washcloth & not near the nose of a little one. Just rub the chest. belly, arms, back, legs, hands & feet & maybe forehead & around the hairline. Wait 10 or more minutes & watch the fever drop. Not too much alcohol on the washcloth & not anywhere hear the nostrils due to the fumes. Just be kind, soothing & gentle when appplying with a comfortable temperature water on the cloth. If they are old enough to understand tell them it's nothing new & should help bring the fever down so they'll feel a bit, or a lot better. The old remedies they don't tell you about in today's volatile economic world.

Doc- please include a warning regarding the toxicity/dangers of tea tree oil if ingested or directly applied to any of the mucous membranes in humans, as well as many house pets. As another commenter pointed out, even using this oil in a diffuser around pets can be dangerous and harmful and should be avoided. Tea Tree Oil is truly one of nature’s most powerful medicinal oils, when used in low concentrations. Stay safe everyone ☮️.

@@chrissychavez7201 I was taught to not ingest any essential oils under any circumstances. Not everyone agrees with that. 🙂 But especially the oils that will burn you, like tea tree, oregano, etc. You can get all the benefits by inhaling the tea tree oil in a bowl of hot water, as Dr. M suggested, or sniffing it on a kleenex, or diffusing into your house (not around pets). Good luck! 🙂❤

@@JJ-jl1ge LOL, sure. I used to live in Bakersfield CA where the summers are brutally dry. I had a bowl of dry cat food on the kitchen floor. When I came home from running errands, I saw these long dark lines on my floor which I initially thought were dirt and then I noticed the cat food bowl was full of ants 😬. I almost lost my mind and I quickly scooped up as many as I could with a wet sponge but they kept coming, from the sides of doors and windows. I also didn’t want to use Raid because of my cat. I saw the tea tree oil bottle and I just thought that the scent being so strong, maybe … and it worked like a charm, those ants ran for the hills, likely literally doing 180° turns in a split second. Initially, I just poured TT oil on paper towels and left them on the floor. Once the ants appeared to have left the floor, while some were still on the walls here and there. I soaked paper towels, folded them into little squares and put them anywhere and everywhere I had seen them coming in. I also placed them on my kitchen counter. I’d say the ants were gone in about an hour. I gradually reduced the number of squares I had laying around the house but always maintained at least one per room but as soon as I saw one ant, I added more. I would also add that, in retrospect, I had seen a few ants here and there in the week leading up to this infestation but ignored them. My bad.

Always, always use a carrier oil when you use essential oils on your skin. The essential oils can help with many health concerns but some have very powerful constituents that can cause skin burns, rashes and irritation. Test a mix of a carrier oil like jojoba or olive oil with the essential oil and try on your inner arm. Research dilution rates please. Inhalers are a great way to get benefits without the oil touching your skin. I do not sell anything, just a consumer for 10 years with several courses in usage and essential oil chemistry. If you take a blood thinner, avoid oils like wintergreen and helichrysum, anything with aspirin type Chemicals.

We make manuka (tea tree) tea from the leaves of the organic trees in our front yard. The oil in the leaves does all the things Dr Mandell claims....and more. Cheers from Aotearoa New Zealand.
