The Ektar H35 is a small point-and-shoot film camera with a unique feature.
It's a good replacement for your disposable film camera since it gets the same look and is reusable.
This is a good camera for film photography if you want to save some money on film using the half-frame feature.

I have the same 'unique feature' on my 1960s Olympus Pen ee 😊 I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another retro film photographer 📸

My Chaika 3 probably cost me less, but came with a selenium light meter, 1/30 to 1/250 shutter speeds and an aperture dial, while still doing half frame. There's better 18x24s than a storebought soapbox

This camera has a better lens design than the full frame reusable cameras so the images are actually sharper with the H35. The new H35N has an even better lens.

I just looked back and compared some photos I've taken on both and I think I'll have to disagree. The grain on the disposable camera images was more subtle and retained more detail to my eye compared to my H35's photos. I haven't used the newer H35N so I can't really speak to how those would compare. I'm not sure how much this matters though because I don't think anyone buys this camera for sharpness or detail. Thanks for your comment!

@@Noahs_Photography Sharpeness ≠ detail. The disposables and full frame cameras may have some more resolution in the center but they also have worse contrast and definitely a lot of chromic aberration and softness on the edges, the H35 does not. Also if you’ll put in a finer grained film like Portra 400 or 160 you’ll definitely get more detail too than a disposable with grainy Ultramax 800.

Hi@@VariTimo , I looked back at my photos again and the results from my disposable camera and my Ektar H35 are too similar to really tell them apart. The Ektar H35 is not really targeted at people who want the most detail and neither are disposable cameras so I don't think the comparison really means much. Those two cameras are meant to be convenient rather than the best in image quality. If you really want the best image quality I would look at and SLR or a nice Point and Shoot, my Sure Shot Max has proven extremely sharp for a point and shoot if you want an example. Have a great day!👍

@@Noahs_Photography No I absolutely agree and I only use my H35 has a back up in my back back, but the lens is better. If that’ll show comes down to how fine grained the film is and how high the scanner resolution is.

I can’t recommend this camera. Know why? Because Demi EE17s are fully manual cameras with a glass lens and generally can be found with a broken light meter for around the $50 mark. You would LOVE one, go out and get one!
