Use to live in the USA in the late 80s, and just love watching the traffic via your DriveCam ...now back home here in New Zealand, everything here looks so different!

Ask them for their phone number and when their sleep time is. Give them a call. Lol. Not fun getting sleep time interrupted. I mostly drove nights. Day time sleeping was very noisy at times. Thank you for video. Have a blessed day.

Hi guys, Here's a hint for ya; the next time you go into a Landstar terminal, HQ,... Go into dispatch & go review your driver/truck info pages on their computer & re-verify everything is correct on all pages. Back in the day, I was working for a company & they had to re-load data from a backup (main hard drive went out!)... when they did that something didn't work right, data got mixed up, lost, etc. for a few hundred drivers - which caused pay foul ups, cross load errors, etc. At one point, I got a phone call from weekend dispatch yelling why I was 1100 miles from my pickup in 30 minutes. I said, because my pick up is in 6 hours about 600 feet from where I am parked across the street at the truckstop. That was fun (not!). Especially when I had to tell them I hadn't been in the tractor their computer said I was assigned; in nearly a year! (Why they thought I was in the wrong place). Anyway, always a good idea to recheck at least once a year on the validity of your own data! Phones... I ran across a husband/wife 18 wheeler team. They had a similar issue with phones; getting woken up @ wrong times, etc. Their solution... they got a third phone & made that their "primary truck phone". Whomever was on-duty answered & carried the phone (had an amp & exterior antenna & plugged into truck power while moving). They stopped getting woken up on their own phones after that. And had better range in weak signal areas due to having the antenna & amplifier.

We forward our phone when busy or no answer that way it goes to the other phone. That might be an option for you guys. Heather doesn't have to watch 2 phones all your calls would come over her phone and she could answer or not.

Hello you guys sounds like you need to get a company phone just for the dispatchers to have and have a different phone for you two personally and then you can leave it in the cabin of the truck while the other one is sleeping and if it does ring you can answer it too and that'll stop all of the confusion at the same time and three thousand miles in a trip is awesome as well too have a great day now out there and bs and bc too

If you’re not getting rate cons right away. I just do a status update on Landstar online showing my delivery. That way I’m getting load alerts and not waiting on the agent who’s out to lunch. When they eventually send the rate sheet the system will update again. If something changed it will be accurate based on what the agent entered.

I work as a field service technician for a major security company. I take my vehicle home and I'm dispatched by a national dispatch center. I can't tell you how many times I drive past someone who is heading 10 minutes away from my home, so I can respond 10 minutes away from his. Things that seem so simple to us, appear to be so difficult for others. I enjoy your channel very much!

I went down that hill years ago, on 10” of packed snow about 25 years ago with the wife and our 1 year old daughter, kind of a puckering experience, of course it was open for semis at that time. Landstar’s system is my number one gripe with them, update it already! I wish I had a good suggestion on dealing with it for now, but I don’t. I’ll be back in Tennessee tomorrow, taking my days off. Landstar can look on the elog to see which person is logged on as driving... should be company policy to NOT call the co-driver because they most likely are sleeping.

Or, maybe forward the phone while sleeping.

Simple solution.Keep two phones in cab .You are married so it should be no problem .WHEN ONE OF YOU IS SLEEPING THE OTHER WORK YOU BOUTH HAVE HANDS FREE IT SHOULD BE A PROBLEM 😁

Question. Looking back at the bunk, is there a safety net for the sleeper while mobile ???? Or when there is an emergency brake application the person that is sleeping wakes up next to the driver up the front????
