This lot of drills came in for a local kitchen manufacture who use them for manufacturing, assembly and fitting.
These are a perfect example of how even the basic model of drill, no mater what brand, can last for years of daily use if used are cared for correctly.
These drills have clearly not been overworked and so have continued running until the brushes simply wore out.
As for which is best for longevity, the Hikoki HItachi drill uses a dc motor which is expensive to replace, but are expensive as the Metabo drill.
The Metabo drill would be more powerful with a 4 pole motor, but it is also a more expensive drill.
the milwaukee is a good option, but the 4 brushes are small and don't last as long.
The best seems to be the dewalt for this one, as it was one of the oldest drills and so ran for a long time. Plus the drill is cheap to buy and the brush ring is also very cheap.

It's positive that even fairly cheap tools are lasting between 6 to 10 years in general use. For many general trades they are good enough.

I love your channel...really relaxing for me.😄 I normally only buy new machines, but recently I managed to find a very old Makita belt sander 9924DB for €30. It's in very good cosmetic and working condition...really old-it still says "Makita Electric Works Ltd." and still has a light gray cable...I'm slowly ordering bearings, brushes, etc...and it will work for many years to come...keep it up...really interesting videos😃👍

This video is a good argument for buying all brushless when it comes to cordless tools. These wee brushed motors have a limited life expectancy so the tool could be all good otherwise just the motor is dead. Bronze bushes wear out and the brushes aswell. I have an old brushed Bosch drill from 2014 that will need a motor soon. Its only 16€ luckily.

If you have pin-setters and a hammer you can actually open canned-motors to replace the brushes. :) But of course because this involves uncrimping bits of metal to get to the brushes it can only be done a few dozen times before the metal fatigues. - still, humans don't live very long so it's probably possible to service one of these canned motors for a lifetime

My grandpa had some old metabo drills and he swore he never had any issues with them and they served him good,so i followed into his footsteps i guess and recently got some german metabo drills the brushless models and they are pretty good so far, about 2 n half years of constant abuse on them drilling and screwing some 6x30 bolts almost every week.Im not rich in any ways but i'll invest in these as i specially love the CAS system they have.I love all things power tools and watching your vids helped me fix some of my old equipment awesome and very educational content.

With cheap machines this old I always tell my customers these machines are like cars, they can be fixed by replacing a part, but they have to keep in mind the other parts have been used for the same amount of time including the batteries. In the end the choice is always up to the customer ofcourse, but yeah no guarantee claims when one stops working again after a month other then on the motors in this case.

Use flux when soldering anything. Your hands are not clean by default that is why the result isn't "pretty". Wipe the flux after being done, with a paper towel. It's not difficult to melt. Apply some flux to it and see for yourself. It isn't a PC card to need low-melt solder in it. You incorporate flux with the extra solder but it just isn't enough.

He would save money in the end if he stopped buying the cheapest brushed tools he can find. Those will wear out 3 times before you manage to break a slightly more expensive brushless tool, and that's not factoring the extra battery cycles you take out of your batteries.
