super junior was the group that got me into kpop when "sorry, sorry" first came out. my favorite song is either "it's you" or "don't don" and i've gone through a few biases. my first bias was hangeng but he left to look after his health because sm was treating him awfully, then kangin who left the group in 2019, and now heechul is my tentative bias but i love the whole group. the song you were interested in during donghae's section was the rock version of bonamana. there's no studio version but the super show 6 recording is on spotify and teukienickie (awesome elf who's managed to keep concert content up) has all the super shows on her channel if you want to check out the live stage.

Wow, was not expecting this so soon, but so glad you are learning more about them! My favorite SuJu songs are Devil, Ticky Tocky, Shirt, Islands, and Mirror. When it comes to biases, I tend to gravitate toward vocalists, so Kyuhyun stood out to me. I was very intrigued by him because his voice was so much richer than what I had heard before in groups. Then I saw clips of him and his personality, and I was sold. He wasn't the first person I noticed in the group, but he was the one I found myself watching every time I saw a video or watched a performance. -The thing about Leeteuk/Eunhyuk getting confused for each other is that even though they don't look alike, people still get them wrong. It's mostly Eunhyuk getting confused for Leeteuk, but once it was the other way around. It's not even fans that do this either, but news outlets and even some celebrities. No one really knows why. -Actually, one of the unique things about the group is how they promoted when members were missing for one reason or another, be it for military or something else. In short, they never slowed down except for one brief period in 2016 when the biggest chunk of members were in the military. But came right back in 2017 with their next album. But even between albums, the members would be on a show, or multiple shows, so they didn't really lose any momentum, and are still going. -They do have their own sub-label called Label SJ that only manages Super Junior activities and promotions. The label is still under SM, but they have the independence to do what they want for the most part.They got this label in 2015, so any music since has been under that label. -Leeteuk can rap decently well and sing. The clip that was shown was them working on a comedy rap video. People mainly know him for his MC and host appearances these days, but if you watch more of their performances, you see his idol side is quite different. -Lol, yes Donghae is born and bred Korean, but has a different way of speaking and can be really shy. But he doesn't sound shy when he speaks other languages, so it's an inside joke with them that he's a foreigner. -Oh yeah, no one is better at roasting the members than they are themselves. But it's all in fun. If there's a problem, they handle it. - "Sorry Sorry Answer" is actually a whole other song. The chorus is a remix of Sorry Sorry, but the lyrics of the rest of the song are different. I highly recommend watching a live version! It's absolutely amazing. -That clip of Ryeowook in the military uniform was actually the day he was discharged and they had come to pick him up.

This is why i love super junior. They are the OG crazy group and whenever they have tv show guesting, the hosts are drained by their crazy antics 🤣. I attended some of their Super Show concert and it was a very fun and memorable experience. They are the reason why i got into kpop since 2008 and i am happy that they are still active. Eunhyuk is my ultimate bias and I never thought he was ugly at all but I understood how close they all were and how funny and how they stood together like brothers. SHINHWA is a first generation group from SM that is still active. To date, they have never lost or replaced any of their six members. The only time they were inactive as Shinhwa was when they were doing their military service so members concentrated on their solo careers. They were originally from SM but left as a group to start their own company after their contract with SM ended. Suju is very similar to Shinhwa. Suju started when Shinhwa was still in SM and Suju actually inherited some of their old managers. SHINHWA WAS WILD. Even Suju used to say that when they were acting up they were yelled at for being Shinhwa-like. Shinhwa had real fist fights at broadcast stations in front of everyone, dated in public, smoked, were drunk in public, always showed up everywhere late and hungover. They even put out a semi-nude photo album. When groups misbehaved, they were always called Shinhwa. Like all the SM artists, Shinhwa had the visuals, vocals and all around talent. Shinhwa was the first k-pop group to really become the traditional well-rounded entertainers that SM, especially Suju, that SM is known for. Suju followed in Shinhwa's footsteps becoming MCs, actors, models, variety kings, etc. Like how each Suju member has had success in their solo careers, Shinhwa was the first group that had all the members branch out with solo careers while still remaining in the group. Suju's iconic hand greeting was inspired by Shinhwa's greeting. SM created a label so Suju could remain under SM. Shinhwa left to create their own. The biggest difference I think is that Suju had many more members and not all are close while Shinhwa was known for their closeness, competitiveness and teamwork. Besides having the first subunits, Suju also had the first foreign member in k-pop. The k-pop world wasn't prepared for foreign members and Suju's Hangeng suffered a lot. He sued SM to get out of his contract to return to China. There was no standardized process for foreign idols back then so obtaining work visas were a problem, tv broadcast companies had limits on how often a foreigner could perform on Korean tv, etc. To get around that Hangeng would often perform in a mask as a backup dancer so he could perform with the rest of the members. Suju was a rotation group until the fans protested so SM made all the members permanent. Much later there were some Chinese idols that SM wanted to add to Suju but fans actually bought shares in SM and protested loudly so the Chinese guys just became a subunit and never official members of Super Junior. It wasn't just the fans protesting Sungmin's marriage that turned him into an "inactive" member of Suju. There was issues within the group regarding Sungmin and his marriage. Former Suju member, Kangin, had several brushes with the law and yet was allowed to remain in Suju until his final controversy. EXO's Chen got married and even had a child yet EXO members were adamant that Chen stay in EXO despite what crazy fans and SM management said. Super Junior is a wildly talented and fun group with many different personalities. They have some of the BEST vocalists from the second generation. I hope you continue to explore them more along with other SM iconic groups like TVXQ. Suju and TVXQ members lived and trained together before debut so the two groups are extremely close. (A long unneeded comment) Honestly i’d like to say it’s save to assume that it’s thanks to their longevity that a lot of groups are planning to go on and some others reuniting which is really awesome to see, even though shinhwa(the original longevity idols and the oldest group out there) they don’t really promote as a group as much as suju, and as you saw the group used to have a rotational concept It’s a bit different that surprisingly not all of them were singers The reason why they have SO MANY multitalented members is that SM got actors, entertainers and singers and made them debut to basically get their name out there then “graduating” after a year, with the addition of kyuhyun it was supposed to be a member leaving but the fans protested (and i think bought stocks lol) to stop the rotation concept and that’s how it became a conflict of 13 only (the two more members were probably gonna be added to the group but they only made them part of the Chinese subunit bc fans refused) and well it was kind of up to the members to either stay or move on, everyone decided to continue with the group except kibum (originally an actor) he revealed he left bc he wasn’t much of a good singer. Back to the topic bc differently from i-fans, idols aren’t really considered much in korea so them pioneering the variety-dol actor-dol radio-dol and much more, it helped the member’s individual relevancy (like how even non i/kfans can tell at least 4 members) and with the group itself being still famous overseas with relatively good results even it wasn’t as much as their peak, it helps so many junior groups to think “oh so we can do that as well” and even reuniting groups (sechskies , a first gen group talked about how suju helped them take the courage to do it) anyway I enjoyed your video so much and I liked how you honestly pointed out things you don’t like and the things you do it feels quite meaningful Just wanted to point out that this is kind of bc it’s an older group so it’s kind of different But second gen group, especially with the case of suju bc most of them are hosts They priorities “footage” over anything else It sounds mean but this is how they were specifically trained and it’s kind of a known rule that anything said on air could be true or not just for viewers entertainment and everyone understands that

Heenim is very spicy on the outside but soft to the very core and I love that about him. Suju songs, there's so many to choose from honestly but I'd suggest Don't Don just because out of all their older songs, that's a guilty pleasure for me. Too much angst on that one. This is their 10th anniversary as a subunit album and all songs are amazing. A few weeks ago they also released 4 solo songs : DongHae “California Love” and “Blue moon” . Eunhyuk “Be” and “Red Muhly” These 4 songs have videos you can find on KZfaq. Edit: about “sorry sorry answer” is R&B song where we can appreciate the talent of subunit KRY (KyuHyun, Ryeowook and Yesung), and includes the chorus of original “sorry sorry”. I recommend you a live version because their vocals are over the top, also because the studio version (original MV) the composer of the song Yoo Young jin sings some parts (amazingly… he is perfect) but a lot of people thinks that is one of the KRY member singing and is not the case. Any way either studio or live version the song is really good.

Ahhh 2nd gen SM groups loved dressing up in cheap party costumes! It was mostly for concerts and variety shows, but TVXQ's 'Balloons' mv has them dancing in onesies, and SNSD's Jessica and SHINee's Key did Barbie Girl at an SM concert... they were totally down for clowning about, and SJ still do it to this day. On their current tour (SS9) they dressed up as old-school composers to do an operatic version of Rokkugo! I recommend looking it up if you want a laugh - they really are crazy!

Find this video out of nowhere. I've been a fan of Suju since 2006 and now I'm 33.. the same age with Suju's maknae Kyuhyun. He is also 33 (or in Korean age 34). So, Super Junior is the only boygroup that I love... and now they already on their 16th years (their 16th years anniversary was on November 6th). Their songs that I love the most : It's You, Sorry Sorry - Answer, Gulliver (B-Side), Ticky Tocky (B-Side), Zero (D&E Unit), Red Muhly & Be (Eunhyuk), SPY, Shirt, Black Suit, Magic, Pajama Party, Cooking?Cooking! and many more. Fyi, they hate SPY because with only 10 members active now, the dance is so hard to do.. because in SPY they need exact formation.. (like who should pass who, jump through who). My bias is the one in my profile pic, Eunhyuk. The thing about Suju is that their live versions of their songs (where they performed them on their concerts named Super Show, the last one before pandemi hit is Super Show 8, there's a strong possibility that next year they will have SS9) are much better than the studio version, because their live vocals are so good and their stage acts are out of this world. I hope you can react to some of their live performances.

Bonamana was the rock-sounding song that you said was your style (with Donghae's scream at the beginning). Yesss finally got round to watching this. there's alot of rly good groups these days but maaan i have such a soft spot for 2nd gen groups. :") i cant wait for you to someday get into 2nd gen variety shows. so the ongoing supershow right now is supershow 9. ss9 seoul is the first stop of their tour and they did it 3 nights. siwon surprised fans with free drinks (alcoholic drinks) with everyone that attended ss9, they just have to present their ticket i think. for muslim elfs that attended ss9 seoul, siwon offered sodas. 💙💙💙💙💙

As far as Leeteuk and Heechul are concerned, Leeteuk is the mom, Heechul is the stepdad. Heechul doesn't consider the other members as his kids because he "had" a child with Hankyung (former member).

I didn't get into SuJu until I saw a performance by their K.R.Y. subunit. After that, I was completely gone on Kyuhyun so I kept up with every single thing before I didn't have time anymore. But Kyu is still my ultimate bias. He's been it for 11 years. I don't think anyone will overtake him.

Super Junior is iconic in a loooot of ways,and yes,they are all very talented in many areas outside music! Hope you will take your time to check their discography aswell as variety shows,dramas, theater,radio,tv and movie appearences! Btw Leeteuk and Heechul are 40yro... Super Junior was my first group when I got into kpop back in 2011 and I did drift away from them a bit for a few years but I've recently been getting back into them so the timing of this was perfect. It was like a little refresher and preview of all the things I missed. Thank you for the request, Mimi! 💙 There were a few songs in this that you asked about. The one when Shindong is showing off his dancing is "2YA2YAO!". It's one of their newer songs; it came out in 2020 and was produced by Zico. The other song you asked about was when Donghae was screaming and that was the rock remix version of their song "Bonamana". The original song came out in 2010 and they first performed the rock version at Super Show 4 in 2011. There's a studio version of it included on their SS4 album. Finally, Sorry Sorry Answer is a slowed down remix of the song featuring vocals from KRY and SM producer Yoo Youngjin and raps from Donghae and Eunhyuk. The song was released on their Super Show 2 album. My favorite Super Junior song overall is My All Is In You which is a B-side from their 4th album. My favorite title track is "It's You" from the repackage of their 3rd album. My favorite album itself is probably their 7th album MAMACITA.

I think one thing I appreciate from SM groups is that they're honest about their relationship with each other. SM family itself is close but each group has openly talked about how they were not always friends or has had disagreements, fights, etc. Shinee has mentioned how they went from a business relationship to actually being like family. EXO & NCT has mentioned being awkward between members because of their subunits and how large the groups are. But all in all, they eventually become like family where they depend on each other and care for each other but also accept that, like family members, you don't always get along

K-Pop's first entertaining idol group, they are everywhere on the Korean TV screens and all entertainment media A strange group of people who hate their own songs. A group of people who are not afraid to discriminate against outsiders because they discriminate against each other and discriminate against their own company. They are an unpredictable amazing group of people and one thing that is unlike any other group in K-Pop is They have the best and strongest leader who has defended Suju to this day

Super Junior loves to talk about their fights and I really like that about them. I know other groups must have similar stories of fighting with eachother but they dont want to break the bubble of "look at us we are perfect". And I think that part of SJ makes them see more real to me. They have said at the beginning they were only together because of a legal contract but now they are family. And you sometimes fight with your family, but only for a moment then you brush it off and everythings is cool again.

Regarding what you said at the end about 2nd gen boy band covers of 90d boy bands- I haven’t heard a case of that yet, but on the girl group side, SNSD would perform Spice Girls covers in concert. Tiffany has mentioned them as an inspiration.

Thank you for reacting to this. Super Junior is so special and is sadly very underrated nowadays with all the emphasis on modern kpop. They're true legends and deserve sdo much respect. I honestly can't think of any other idol group that has done as much as them or left such a legacy. I hope you'll listen to more of their music, they're so good with such a huge range of music; even my parents like them! Yesung is my bias, but Siwon, Eunhyuk and Ryeowook are my bias wreckers.

I started listening to suju in 7th grade now I’m a junior in college and still love. My favorite songs are the oldie “U” and “Devil” but they have so many bold it’s hard to chose. I used to love Eun-hae ship but Kyuhyun has grown to become my favorite. He has grown so far in his career and he’s so witty😁
