For me, yes. I have been DYING for an interior look at the Hive and just to find out more about hivewings in general, and this book gave that and much more.

my biggest thing was them not even mentioning the icewings Great Ice Dragon god or whatever nor the skywings burial ceremony thing i was drooling for those n was so disappointed 😭

I really enjoyed and loved the book! I wouldnt necessarily say it was a total "guide"... i consider it to be more like a collection of tribe stories. And there was some things I would have loved to see more of. But I still enjoyed reading about the tribes and learned some new things! I loved all the extra art joy ang included too!! All in all its a 10 for me! Tui did a great job on it!

I was anticipating a video like this, since I can't get my hands on the guide yet. I haven't heard or seen many reviews of this, but I struggled to find criticisms. I'm confident there's some vital problems with this I'm very interested in hearing. Of course, if they're that minimal, then even better. But knowing the recent track record with Wings of Fire, I'm not sure.

Yeah,...about that time skip, In the SeaWing chapter, Turtle's letter says that he missed Starflight's deadline 'cause he thought that he would get a break from homework since he "Recently swam to the other side of the world", whitch means the guide can't have taken place too long after Arc 3 I guess Strongwings coundn't keep it in his scales😅

Would it be controversial to say that I wanted to see more about scavengers / the Scorching? We were promised the story of that event from the dragon's perspective, leaving me to think that, oh, it'll be like the Cottonmouth flashback thing but... y'know... from the dragon's perspective, and we'd perhaps find out more about the first queen and perhaps more about Lizard/Freedom. But instead all we got was a retelling of the fragmented information we'd already been given about the Scorching from arcs 1 and 2. Just, disappointing in my opinion. As for arc 4. I've mentioned on other people's videos what I hope to see, that we see Hailstorm again but a version of the character that has embraced Pyrite as a part of who they are and living their best life in the Sky Kingdom under that name.

What I'd like to see is an arc set in the far future, during a time when the cast of the first three arcs have faded into legends. A bit of a soft reset for the series, in a changed world with humans and dragons living together

I believe the wrong info in the Pantala section might be a result of the book being written before the series was finished. If they waited until it was done to start writing the guide, the wait would have been _much_ longer. And I also heard somewhere that Tui "wanted to wait until the Pantalan tribes had been introduced" to start working on the book, but they never said anything about waiting until the series was finished. I was also pretty annoyed when I was reading that section, but I think I understand why it's like that.

Does anybody know where exactly I can go to find release dates for these new books? They don’t exactly seem to be out there like movie and tv trailers and I’m still new to this fandom

Yeah. This is most likely set at least a year after the events of Arc 3 because if Fierceteeth is about to lay her eggs, we learned from Book 2 that it takes about a year for eggs to fully develop inside the mother before being laid and then takes another year until they hatch. So unless Strongwings and Fierceteeth did you know what on the Nightwing island, then this should take place a year after Book 15. But that also would mean that all of the dragonets of destiny are close to becoming fully grown adults.

Great video! But about Books 10 and 11, I'm pretty sure they happen several months apart not at the same time. In book 14 it says that Snowfall has been queen for a few months already.

i still dont have the book, but my husband ordert it just now for me as a xmas gift. i cant wait to read it. also to hear that it gives a 4th arc. i just dreamt about it a few days ago that in wings of fire they dircovered a 3th island and there live other kinds of dragons. when i woke up, i just hoped it would be real. i also hope that the TV series would come out, but i am not so sure about that. i have a hard time to find information about all this. and it got harder since i moved From USA back in my country in switzerland. if anyone know ehre you get your news, let me know, pleace

It also hinted at possible poison immunity for the Leafwings, since they say they aren’t sure about whether the foods that Leafwings eat are able to be eaten by other dragons, this would actually make sense since they live in something that is literally called the Poison Jungle, which has to have some sort of poisonous plant(s) in it, and poison immunity could also allow them to be immune to other poisons and venoms from other tribes, which would make them even more powerful than they are when surrounded by plants and with a strong Leafspeak, although then again this isn’t exactly confirmed and is only a speculation made by a very specific piece of writing, I could and probably am going crazy and if that is the case then oh well

Can't say A Guide to the Dragon World was worth the $35.00 CAN I paid for it; though Queen Glacier making time in her hectic schedule to snuggle with her youngest daughter, Princess Mink, was touching to hear. The highlights of the book are the dragon tribal queen portraits; Queen Thorn's is the best - I've never seen two dragons look happier in one another's company than Thorn and Smolder do. The announcement of a fourth Wings of Fire arc is exciting, not gonna lie, but also concerning; given how messy and unnecessary the third arc was, it's hard not to look at a fourth without worry.

I'm also hoping arc 4 is amazing, there's still this fear that it'll be just as unfocused as arc 3 (I'll still like it, since outside Winglet Prisoner and Dragonslayer, I can enjoy all books). But I want Tui to try harder to make arc 4 at least as good as arc 1, if not better than arc 1 and 2 combined. And yeah, it's worrysome that Wings of Fire will be milked to death with neverending books. I'd say at that point, if Tui still wants to write about dragons, she should just make a brand new series with new characters, new stories and new worldbuilding concepts and magic system. That way she can use that freedom from the rules et in Wings of Fire while also getting the chance to write many things she couldn't fit into WoF. I wouldn't mind if she tried for an older audience with a new dragon series (and hopefully humans can finally be absent).

All i wish was that with someone the tribes we got more smaller things like,, the skywings getting an anthem is really fun!! I rlky just wanna know tribe traditions , cultures , holidays the like . Again i loved the book as is but i want more lttle things the make the tribes feel more alive

The things i want to happen in arc 4: sky and peril meet each other, the new generation of students/main characters, a new big bad, no human students (i could care less about them), pantalan students, the inclusion of blood moons, maybe add in an abilities class for nightwings and hivewings a few new teachers like 1 from every tribe and maybe some day our favorite characters dragonets added to and umber and sora reunite with clay, possible fire immunity added to fire resistant scale mudwings and firescale skywing hybrids maybe add a few royals and maybe a new prophecy maybe sky gets to join jade mountain academy (just a random thought) hybrid dragonets get added to the school, possibly some classes on animus dragonet powers if it returned, and that's about it for my ideas

I had very similar thoughts of ultimately enjoying it yet being disappointed by a few things Especially the sandwing chapter being my favorite tribe I was kind of mad that it was Jeff Mulder's diary and a not even complete list of everything in Burns Tower like cool but also that doesn't really have anything to do with the sand wings themselves it barely includes any sandwich history it doesn't give us anything about the culture of any fan doing outside of burn and smolder right after the death of his mother so we don't get any idea for what life as a fan Wing is actually like. Is this chapter in particular could have been really cool as we could have gotten some squirrels about sanding history we could have learned about how the eye of onyx was first used and we could have had competing cultural stories from dragons on each side of the war and how they lived while serving blister or burn. Not to mention the scorpion den and the outclaws. And we could have learned more about what Thorn was actually doing as Queen the fact that thorn doesn't say a thing and doesn't write a letter to starfly kind of concerned me like where is she we got a letter from funny and Thorn is Thorn herself? And then qivli don't have anything to say either and if only mentioned once you'd think he'd love this kind of thing. Similarly I got really annoyed every time it mentioned that something was included but being cut off like the list of rainwing colors that glorious specifically said she didn't catch all of and despite all the things she recorded every single thing her brother said to her about it, or the interview with Mastermind where Glory asked like maybe two questions.. and again several of the tribes give us cultural bits of information like the mudwing and skywing chapters but others completely skip out on all of that like the rain wings which somehow don't mention something as simple as fun time I could imagine Glory saying something about how it's not a sign of laziness and explaining why rain wings do it to other dragons to try to persuade that particular myth since she suffered from it and she didn't even have the sun. Isn't of course there's all the Pantala chapters which fleshed out a few things about living in the hives before but like you mentioned completely doesn't mention anything that's actually up-to-date why is wasp still the queen it's driving me a little crazy. This section of the book also had massive potential that it didn't explorer for instance a cultural comparison between poison and fat wings would have been interesting especially because it could have been written by sundew and Willow side by side and we could have seen more of them interacting in notes. Not to mention this would have been the perfect way to tell if a little more about how the settlement is going with the leaf silk Kingdom and what the culture is like over there now post the flaming disaster thing... Just like you though I'm mostly angry about what we didn't get and everything we did get is really freaking cool with the possible exception of smolders diary which I agree definitely could have been its own book. The way I described it was I'm unhappy but I'm pleased.
