True Backstage and Road Stories

True Backstage and Road Stories

2 жыл бұрын

I tell about Peter Frampton giving us watches for the end of the 1977 tour. I tell how it was stolen from my luggage on the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane that crashed. How I found one just like it in Portland, OR. I also show off my new lights given to me from Joe in Liverpool, England with my new camera given to me by Jimmy Withers.
Special thanks to:

Mark, it's sad that the thieves went through and stole stuff from the plane crash. I'm sure Karma has or will pay them a visit. I saw Frampton when he was in Humble Pie and I saw Frampton on his Farewell Tour. Great show. Thanks for another great road story! The lights look great too.

Your doing fine with the lighting especially considering the short time you’ve had them. The story’s are what brings us and keeps us coming back time and time again. You make the stories interesting and I really enjoy listening to you tell them and want to thank you for sharing them and especially when you told us about October 20, 1977 and that tragedy because I saw how hurtful it was for you. This was another great story and I appreciate you telling the story of your watch.

That's one of the things that really pissed me off about the crash, the amount of items that were stolen from the victims! How can people just be such vultures? I even read that one of the rescuers sister had items that were removed from the crash scene. I know it's only "Stuff" and thankfully the most important thing is that there were so many survivors. But it is still pretty sh***y no matter how you look at it. It just makes you wonder who exactly has your watch? And what actually became of it. I'm sorry that happened to you and other victims of the crash. You all went through enough and didn't deserve to be robbed on top of it!:(
@truebackstageandroadstorie630
@truebackstageandroadstorie630 2 жыл бұрын
You are correct dear. First off, thank you for watching and nice to see your comments again. Secondly, when I went back to the crash site for the 40th reunion, a lot of people went down the highway to someone's warehouse and there were so many items from the crash I couldn't believe my eyes! I was with my friend who rode with us from Houston (Pasadena, TX) and I said to him about 3 minutes after we got there, " Hey Tom, man I gotta get outta here, I can't do this" so we left. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but I coulden't hang because of the things that were missing from myself and others that were on the plane. So, now I'm going to do a video about it. Thanks dear!

I know how you feel about your watch. I was given a similar Seiko by my brother, Phil, who was in the Air Force back during Vietnam. I misplaced it somehow years ago. Never found it. Have some ideas where and who may have knowledge of its whereabouts. It meant a lot to me. Thanks for telling me your connection with your Seiko watch. Mine was blue. Anyway it brings back good memories of my brother. Also saw Frampton many years ago in Connecticut @ Fairfield University.

Mark, your tales never cease to amaze me brother. Some people are just pure scum and take advantage of situations like the plane crash to benefit themselves. I can only imagine you hyping up the watch to your girlfriend that Frampton gave you it then you show him it and bang he doesn't remember, hahaha.
