OMG Mickayla. I watched only two women prepare Thanksgiving arrays of plenty for their families this year. You and Meg Hollar , both of you, two of my favorite women on youtube. Blood sweat and tears is all I could think of, yet you both seam to do what you do in the kitchen so effortlessly. Your families are so blessed. Happy Thanksgiving and many , many more. We were watching one of your videos. It occurred to me you placed cameras just like we were in the garden with you. When you pulled off veges, we could see it, your hand on the stem & your fingers around the stem, grasping the vege and you pulling it off. It felt like we were with you. We understood. On reflection, others point a camera where they are working and record their work. But, I can't see what they are doing! THINK YOU!!! It makes such a difference- FRIEND!!!

Thank you for this comment! I really do try to move the camera and show you guys exactly what we're doing. Sometimes it's not always possible, especially when Tay & I are working on separate projects & I'm trying to manage filming both of us at the same time, but I put a lot of thought & care into these videos. Great cooking skills. When you are scraping anything from your cutting board, just use the back of your knife. It will protect the blade from knife sharpenings. I'm glad Ben & Meg sent me over. I do it about half the time haha usually I'm in a hurry and we have poor quality knives anyways, so I don't do it as "law", just whenever I remember or care to take the time to flip it around.

Thanks so much for watching! We love our kitties & they love to hang out with us (especially if there are snacks involved haha!) Moo did in fact lick the pie, which we always expect. Our microwave is usually our "bread & sweets storage" because he can open cabinets and will tear through any plastic or foil lol

Hahaha! We ate the leftovers for din for a few days & I froze what was left. Lots of turkey for future meals & some frozen cranberry balsamic meatballs!

I've never seen anyone put the pecans *in* the caramel before. I've only ever eaten pies with them on top. Oh, and I make a breakfast casserole very similar to yours! One more thing... What a feast you made. I got hungry just looking at all of that food.

I wanted this one to be peaceful without talking, but I usually try to letcha know what I’m making! But since you asked😊, we had: - cider brined turkey - cream cheese & stuffing stuffed mushrooms - cranberry balsamic meatballs (veg) - my family’s cheesy potatoes recipe - roasted Brussels & carrots - stuffing - spiced bourbon cranberry sauce - pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream - maple bourbon brown butter pecan pie 😋😋😋

Hey I use a recipe! It’s just engrained into my head now because I’ve done it so many times😆 if it’s any consolation, I’m still a total newbie with sourdough and the thought of managing it stresses me out, so I just don’t do it right now. We’ve all got our strengths & things we’re working on❤️

Just a little tip if you want your peppercorns to have more kick toast them either in a pan and stove top or in the oven. The taste that is enhanced in the peppercorn is so surprising. You’ll use less pepper and it has a nice deep intense flavor.

Good idea! I tend to lean towards "less of a kick" because I'm such a wimp with spice, but I bet with the whole turkey & brine it would be welcomed. Thanks for the idea!☺

I’ve always been a very picky eater & neither of my parents are great cooks or enjoy cooking (this isn’t a dig, they’ll admit this themselves lol) so I sort of taught myself and had an interest from a young age so I could make food that I like and can tolerate the textures of!

Maybe eventually, we'll see how our homestead plans play out. Not sure yet where we want to go with the raising of animals, since I want to be very conscious of taylors feelings of it as a vegetarian, as well as my ability to process animals on my own.

I love following you and the Hollars and supporting both lovely families, but I must admit that I watch videos while I'm working in the house or in my garden and find that I don't enjoy watching either of your channels then, because both of you tend to make them all about WATCHING, with very little talking. I will almost always choose channels like Acre Homestead during those times, because I can just listen to her and then look when there's something I need to see, like when she takes a cake out of the oven, etc. Since I HAVE to pay attention to actually LOOKING at yours and the Hollars, I watch them only occasionally. I'm not saying you need to change, but I do think you'd get more views if people could watch OR listen to your videos. If I put yours on while I'm doing dishes, laundry, cooking, etc., then all I get is music with a few sentences of talking... I'm sure you can see why that doesn't work. :D

I totally get what you’re saying. Unfortunately there’s no way to really please everyone. I really wish I could! It’s funny because I constantly see comments on the Hollars videos that they talk too much and people wish they’d show more instead of talking, and I get people saying that on here, as well. I really try to balance it out because of that. I’ll try to do more of a variety in the future, sorry about that!

Oh, I'm not trying to complain... just saying that maybe a mixture might get you more views. I know there are some people who watch on their tvs, so those people are probably going to love the no talking. Those of us who watch while we're doing other things are going to pass and you might be missing out on viewers. I will stick around to watch when I can, but I would watch ALL of your videos if I was one of those people watching on my tv. :D
