Calgary Jacobites as a team name. @@alanfox691 Calgary are called the flames because they moved from Atlanta and it was a decent enough name. Atlanta was named the Flames because of a major fire the city had (of course a lot of cities have had those sorts of fires in the late 1800s to early 1900s)

@@alanfox691 also, if designing a jersey for the Halifax Highlanders, definitely putting tartan on it. The Nova Scotia tartan is great, but they'd probably want their own trademarked tartan. The Glasgow Clan have had some great jerseys with tartan on it, but they change them every year and I haven't been able to catch a tartan one in stock.

As far as I'm concerned, San Francisco and San Jose are the same market. The 49ers play near San Jose, not Sn Francisco. They're opposite ends of the Silicon Valley and San Jose is more accessible, San Francisco is the name recognition city.

You should give it a parameter that the mascot name doesn't have to have to start with the city names first letter. The Vegas Vipers and DC defenders are XFL franchise names. Every one, other than Montreal, chose mascot names starting with the the city name... it's unrealistic if a human is naming teams, but a computer, obviously, not at all!!! Any chance you'll see anyone create home/away and alt jerseys for all 32 teams? Might be kind of cool, because other than Montreal, there wouldn't be any pre conceived notions. Voyagers is a great name for a Canadian team, however, as a descendant of Voyageurs who worked for the Hudson Bay Co., and the North West Co., I think it would be a crime not to spell it Voyageurs. Pretty cool idea though... I hope someone comes up with uni concepts!

Wisconsin needs the bring there AHL team and make it NHL. Admirals color scheme would work well with other NHL teams. Also almost every high school has a hockey team it’s not so different than Minnesota. Also we have 3 other pro teams and the state travels well to those games.

Columbus had an ECHL team named Columbus Chill and they were very popular... There is a history of hockey in the city, so I get why it was selected.

Vegas Vipers and DC Defenders were XFL teams (DC Defenders play for UFL). I think 90% of these names are suited for ECHL. As for Stormbreakers and Stormhawks... Its why it always bugged me we have have St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets and 3 canadian teams with C logos.

I was surprised to see the Vancouver Voyagers because I made an expansion team in NHL 24 with the Houston Voyagers because of the talk about Houston getting a team and I was inspired by their space theming and the famous quote of “Houston we have a problem” from Apollo 13. And that “Voyager” is referring to the Voyager Program as well as meaning astronauts. I even made the mascot named Apollo and wearing the number 13, totally thought I was a genius with the whole Houston Voyagers. So I might be biased but I like the Vancouver Voyagers even though it takes on a different meaning in this case

I would have to disagree on the San Francisco take. I went to school in San Francisco for five years, and I rarely seen anyone talk about the Sharks. The whole “hill” argument is not really a good argument, given that only the Giants and Warriors play in the city, while Niners are like 45 minutes outside of San Francisco. Seeing how passionate they are with those three teams, there would be no problem that the people of San Francisco would support an NHL team. They could probably share the arena where the Warriors play.

There's an XFL football team called the Vegas Vipers already. But ChatGPT wouldn't know that. There is already a "D.C. Defenders" in that league too. I would give the Blizzard name to Buffalo instead. St. Louis Cyclones Here's another idea. You know the perfect name for the team in Quebec? Quebec Cuisines Also, two teams shouldn’t be allowed to have the same name. One of the ‘dynamo’ names needs to be changed. Washington DC Defenders is also just too long, and there’s now an XFL/UFL team called the DC Defenders. Also, the name ‘defenders’ simply doesn’t fit hockey at all! Either way, great video!

The AI just took the first letter of each cities and figured a name out of it. That's why you get atrocities like Quebec City Quest (La Quête de Québec in French) witch does not make sens for a sports team at all. Plenty of names you can choose from for a QC franchise : Nordiques, Remparts, As (Aces), Rafales, Harfangs (Owls), Citadelles, etc

Some of your reasoning for not liking the names seems confusing... Calgary has to be the Flames - they weren't, they just kept the name from Atlanta. A Calgary expansion team never would have picked the name Flames. Raleigh Ramparts - why is rampart synonymous with French. It's an english word for the exterior defences of a fort or castle. Atlanta Thrashers are iconic???? Now, I do agree there is WAY too much alliteration in this list.

A rampart is a tower attached to a Fort or more likely a Castle basically a stone or wood watch tower is what a rampart is. In English we say Ramparts plural but in Frensh there is no plural as Frensh is a Latin based language unlike English with English being Getmanic. So in any Latin based languages there is only singular as in Rampart but they have feminine & masculine words to separate singular & plural basically two words spelt different way depending on how the word is being used in its masculine or feminine form. I studied French at School found it hard going to be honest. In Polish you can have up to 4 different spelling of one word depending on context as Polish use the Latin alphabet & the Latin alphabet only has 12 letters as in caricatures.

I don't see the Ramparts name being linked to France more than any European country--especially since the engine didn't spell it Remparts. The reason a Quebec team uses it comes from the history of the city and its fortifications. I have much more beef with the Quest name. The quest for the Holy Grail (the Cup)? To get a team again despite Gary? Translate it in French and in addition to this particular definition, "quête" can mean offertory during Christian church service. Thus, most Canadiens fans in the province would call the people associated with the team the "quêteux", which in turn means beggars or panhandlers. Considering how cash-strapped the original team was towards the end, it might not be that far-fetched from reality a choice by the AI.
