I am overcome by overthinking. Since I started my KZfaq channel, my English advanced. However, sometimes, my English prevents me from getting a good night's sleep. I always think of things irrelevant to my daily life, but I cannot help but stop that thing. I am now an insomniac. My English works well, cultivating my thoughts. This video is about my ‘thinking.’

Overthinking is a curse many men suffer from, including myself. Heavy exercise and zazen help a lot.

I may not have schizophrenia, but I do have a hyperthyroid condition. Occasionally, I get obsessed about a project or a disconcerting issue and this triggers a vicious insomnia-overthinking-insomnia-overthinking- cycle. When my mind races and I lack sleep, my circadian rhythm goes awry, and concentration is a challenge. So, I thank God for my meds, for being able to avoid caffeine, and for pacing my work. Hourly work breaks help me avoid hyper focusing. I stop whatever I'm doing to look out the window at something far away. I do this for around a minute. For good measure, I sometimes say the names of the objects I see. I pray you find something that works for you.

@@user-wi9hn6cp7g Your method of looking out the window and naming objects sounds very grounding. I appreciate your prayers and advice. It’s always encouraging to hear how others cope with their conditions. Take care!

I also have a mental health disorder that causes me to overthink. My mind is never quiet. I spend my day talking to myself. I have to take sleeping tablets but they are not for everyone. Also, I produce a lot of adrenaline which cause me to have sleep starts which is a bit like electric shocks.

@@Gilbertineable Some experts argue that digital content can disrupt sleep, and advocate for digital detox. It's challenging in the digital age, but according to their essays, being free from smartphones can improve sleep quality.

@@yutakawithschizophrenia When I was 41 I developed chronic insomnia with sleep starts and nothing worked - I tried everything. This went on for years. I could sleep during daylight hours but not when it was dark. Melatonin is a precurser to serotonin and I never got on well with serotonin re-uptake medications like SSRI's. I am a night owl.

Hi Yutaka, I appreciate your videos , may I be so rude to ask that you can describe the kinds of things you are thinking of? Are they intrusive thoughts? Things that are horrible in nature?
@yutakawithschizophrenia

@@confuseddad2865 It’s neither intrusive nor offensive, but it's just overthinking. I’ve now been cured of schizophrenic symptoms. But still, I have various vulnerabilities derived from illness. Thank you for your comment!!

@@confuseddad2865 I haven’t yet made a video regarding my medications. I want to share my experience on my medical treatment. However, KZfaq will penalize us for treating detailed medical information without some expertise and knowledge. The only thing I can do is to imply my way on medication by sharing my experiences. But it's a good idea to share medical experiences. Thank you for your comment.
