``Chinese Restaurant Tonton'' in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture is a long-established Chinese restaurant that has been in business for 43 years. Despite facing challenges such as the new coronavirus and the death of the first owner, her granddaughter Honoka Ikeda and her childhood friend Xu Weijuan (Zhenzhen) stood up and created menus such as 1-pound steak fried rice and hamburger fried rice mega-sized menus, and posted on TikTok. Disseminating the menu by making full use of SNS. This attracted attention, especially among young people, and the store gained many followers and became a popular store with long lines of customers. Led by these two university students, this is a beloved town Chinese restaurant that has adapted to the new era while conveying the charm of town Chinese cuisine to the younger generation.

Ikeda and Weijuan are absolutely wonderful people, had the pleasure of interacting with them before they got insanely viral on social media and they are the most intelligent, hard working students/chefs you could imagine. They have a god given talent and I cannot wait for my trip to Japan at the end of this year to finally go try their food and meet these 2 superstar chefs

I'm very proud of these 2 ladies. Working and cooking in restaurant kitchen is very tough and draining a lot of energy. Just imagine standing in front of high heat stove while moving both arms to prepare the foods for hours. The foods really looked so delicious. Just looking at them got me hungry 👍😄🙏

Having worked for 4 years, in college, doing most of the cooking, washing, and everything else in the kitchen, that served thousands of students every day... yeah, it is very draining. (Lunches and dinners were much more substantial, so, yeah, it's very fast-paced as shown here: and students don't even get to choose from endless menu's.) Here, customers are offered dozens of slightly different dishes, so these two are working seamlessly well. As others noted, now that they've managed to attract a new generation of younger crowds, through modern technology, they likely will need to hire more help and to expand to a larger facility.)

More than her looks, she should be admired and credited for her incredible passion, hard work and skills, time management and organization! She's a college student and to then at the same time save and continue her grandpas restaurant with her best friend/childhood friend is so impressive and must be extremely stressful and challenging! And she and her friend still do it! It's amazing and inspiring, I hope they don't overwork themselves and I really wish them the best for the future in every aspect and their restaurant! And If I travel to Japan someday I'd love to visit!!

their stove setup, especially the taps by the wok, its so much like the ones in Singapore's tzechar kitchens, also its so refreshing to see young people do this work, here in Singapore its mostly middle aged men doing the stir fry

The person who filmed this did a great job, captured the beautiful manager/owner of this restaurant and her most natural, beautiful self. Sure, the food looks great, but restaurant's like these are a dime a dozen throughout Japan. It's all about the presentation, and the lovelier the staff, the better.
