Naseem Hamed is the greatest showman in featherweight history. Defended his title 15 times. And was almost as good, as even he thought he was. Love him or hate him Prince Naseem Hamed was boxing royalty.

Not a chance in hell the Prince beats Barrera. There’s videos where talks of how the Prince vs Barrera fight was negotiated. According to some people at HBO they offered the Prince to fight Morales. He said he rather fight Barrera because it was an easier fight. He picked a fighter coming out of a couple of major losses and still lost to him. This man knew he wasn’t going to make it against the elite in his weight division. Everything else is just daydreaming.

@seablock 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaguar324 You clearly have no idea what you're talking about and are clearly lying here. Morales, Barrera and Marquez (Amongst others) wanted nothing to do with Naz for years and ducked him repeatedly. But after Barrera got ripped off in the Morales fight and saw Naz had a tough time with Augie Sanchez, he decided now was the time to take him on. He felt he had nothing to lose. He could see as anyone who watched Naz from the start that he wasn't the same fighter any more. He was just loading up on big single shots and not putting his punches together. It's a danger for punchers if they fall in love with their power because their technical boxing suffers. It was talked about for about 3 years before the Barrera fight had even happened. Morales never wanted the fight at that time. But the reason Naz wanted the Barrera fight more, was down to Barrera winning his fight against Morales and being the better fighter. Not the rubbish you're talking. Not once did Naz ever claim it was the easier fight. It was in fact the opposite. he wanted Barrera because he was tougher and better than Morales. Go and watch "The big fight little prince" documentary and see you're lying. HBO were not in any position to offer Naz the Morales fight either. Morales never wanted it. Go and watch the HBO version of Naz against Sanchez and see them talking about it. How can you offer a fight when the fighter doesn't want it? That would only be the case if Morales wanted it. And he didn't. Barrera hadn't lost a fight since Junior Jones. So how was Barrera coming out of a couple of major losses? Those fights took place 4 years beforehand. Haha. Sorry, but you're clueless and casting it off like you know what you're talking about. You don't. So stop, or i'll continue to school you until you walk away in shame.
@jaguar324
@jaguar324 2 жыл бұрын
@@seablock I’d have to find the video where Larry Merchant shares the behind the scenes negotiations for the Barrera vs Hamed fight. There is a recent video where Barrera and Morales tell their side of negotiations. The video is in Spanish but I’ll be happy to put up the link. Barrera and Morales story coincides with Larry’s story.
@seablock
@seablock 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaguar324 Then they're lying. Morales never wanted it. At no point were there any negotiations with Naz and his team. Only Barrera negotiated with him. But fighters do lie after the fact to save face. Morales would just be another in a long line if this is true. But yeah, show me the video of Larry. I know all about the negotiations back then so i'll know which are lies.

Proof that with great legs you can get your punches off effectively. Naseem could box and punch , get angle and in punch HARD punches at a moments notice. Not many guys who currently fight can do one of the items i just said once. Hagler could jab, box, punch, same as Naseem in the closest of ranges throw KO punches. But all of that aside,,,, the theatre was the best since ALI. Miss Hameed.

The split between Naz and Brendan differs depending who you hear it from. From Naz's side, Brendan got greedy. From Brendans side, Naz got greedy. The story goes that Brendan never charged Naz for training, right from the very start. They had a gentleman's agreement, that when he turned pro, he would pay Brendan 25% from his purse. Naz was ok with this, until he really started earning big money! Naz's story is that not only did Brendan want 25% of his purses, he also wanted 25% from all his sponsorship deals too! Whether that's true or not, only they know. Great video as usual.

Got his @$$ handed to him when he finally faced a top fighter. Then never came back to ring, that's not a legend. A legend comes back from a loss and over comes adversity. He was entertaining though 100% so props for that for sure

He was promoted correctly. Sky and Warren. Brendan was the real deal. We could say he was the UK equivalent to cus da mato. Hamed v Floyd or hamed v pak. Ingle mothodolody is to invade and destroy the opponent's centre line. However the Mexican master barera turned the same mothodolody on hamed. Hamed main flaw was his lack and disregard for fundamentals.
