Not only is lavender one of the loveliest and most fragrant flowers, it’s also one of the most useful.
In early August, lavender on Oregon’s farms is in the height of its purple glory, and with Mount Hood crowning the horizon, Lavender Valley Farm in Parkdale is especially scenic. The farm grows and distils lavender using a steam extraction process. The resulting essential oil and "hydrosol" lavender water are then applied in a huge variety of ways, making it one of the most useful as well as loveliest flowers grown in Oregon.

I was there years ago. I love lavender and use a lot of it. We use in sweat lodge too and in my smudge sticks. I grow my own here in PNW. I wear the scent often. I wipe my dogs down lightly with oil. Keeps pests off them without chemicals.
