I believe my sense of humor has kept me from letting anything get me down even though I've gone through some really painful things especially since I flew 60 ft out the passenger windsheild while 4 months pregnant with my son. He ended up with cerebral palsy but we're both very happy despite our hardships and there will be more because that is what life is, just a series of ups and downs that nothing you do will control. You can turn bitter and things can feel worse if you dont hang on to the joyous parts of life. Laughter has always been the best medicine!

Took my 8 year old grandson for bit to eat, got ice cream on leaving. Holding hands he look up and said how many more years do you have left to live Nanna I have lots more years, I wanted to belly laugh but he was serious. I said Jacob I have no idea, but I’m not going anywhere today. He said good went on liking his ice cream holding my hand. ❤😂😅

With a little imagination, I think the traffic noise sounds like ocean waves at the beach. 😊

On the other side of that last story... imagine being a busy high-strung researcher, and you get a letter from children telling you that the science project you gave them failed because a cat pooped in it. It would definitely liven up my day! 🤣

Oh Dee, I so agree. Almost…up until the last few months…my entire life, I’ve had a vivid imagination and could find a bit of humor in everyday mishaps, problems (with humans and/or non humans), just because…usually…my plans don’t pan out. I’ve always enjoyed making others laugh. Pretended, even if I was feeling a bit down myself. A sense of humor is essential, I think, in order to survive coping with most of the ‘ridiculousness’ which seems to occur on a daily basis (at least in my life, in my perception). Nothing surprises me anymore. I find the automatic voice robots (when I call cable company, insurance company, medical facility, etc…) annoying, yet so funny. They understand nothing I say, when all I’m attempting to do is to speak with a real human. A few months ago I was needing to talk with someone. I do get frustrated and depressed about my health issues..and my circumstances. I called the crisis hotline … just to cry and talk..assuring them I had no weapons and only wished to talk for a bit. A few moments into the conversation, I got disconnected. They never called back. A glitch, perhaps? Too busy? As I sat, quite dumbfounded by the ‘disconnection’ … just as I was beginning to pour my heart out, I began to see the absurdity of what had happened to me. And I began actually laughing out loud. Felt a bit ‘put off’ but I realized it was just another surreal moment in my life. I felt better after laughing. Never called them back. Thanks Dee. For reminding us that smiling and laughing, at the absurdities in life, helps a lot. You’re such a lovely, wise individual. Hugs to you.😊🩷🩷🩷
