Super informative and simple (for Garmin users). Your hack for touchscreen 2 buttons shortcut is AMAZING 😍. Question. Would you know if Garmin will pick the course mid way through. I have loaded a 400km hike but will be doing it in a few stages. Will it pick the course each day or will it navigate to the start? Many thanks 🙏

Thanks for your questions. Yes, you can join a course at any point i.e. midway. You will have to load the correct course at the start of each day. If you do want to get to grips with your watch ahead of what sounds like an exciting adventure please do sign up for the online resource, this has x 70 training video of how to use this watch.

Hi thanks for your message , when I scroll down my course 8min 36 secs on the video I can see figures that relate to estimated time to complete in hours the courses, this information is embedded in the courses as these ones have come from actual recordings done by others and is a guide to how long they should take, I hope this helps. New Fenix 7 owner here. Having a Navigation setting and a Navigate Activity is pretty confusing! Especially when they do pretty much the same thing. Am I correct in thinking that having a map as a data screen in the Navigate Activity, would only allow you to view a map, while using the Navigation feature from within your Navigate Activity would allow a map (pre-setup) that has a route/course for you to follow? What happens if you have setup your Navigate Activity with a map data screen, and also use the Navigation feature from within the Navigate Activity to use a pre-setup course to follow? Would there now be two map screens, or does one take precedence over the other? Does any of this have an effect on battery life? Thank you!

How do I switch activities. I am stuck in Walk and cannot figure out how to exit. Others also report this problem...

Hi Walter, you have to have added other activities to your watch first, if you tap the top right start stop button and then scroll down to the Green + add icon and select it, you then have a list of activities that you can add. Once you have added new activities i.e Run, Hike etc you should be able to choose these from the start stop button, we hope this helps, if you have purchased a watch from ourselves at GPS training we do offer 1 years email & telephone support from ourselves along with access to our own training videos. In this video you are using both hands to operate the watch, but how do you operate the watch on your arm with both hands while hiking?

Whilst on your wrist you can operate it with x 1 hand as the watch is stable on your wrist. I hope this helps.

Yes you can connect it to your inReach, then you get your message notifications on your watch. You also get the option to send presets etc from your watch. I hope this helps.

In addition to this, can I record a track on the watch and sync it with Garmin Explore and save it as an "Activity" (in case I forget the InReach)?

I have a Garmin Fenix 6x pro I have managed to put off road trials on for my enduro bike, I cant for the life of me work out how to work out how to find the start point of the trail and or do the course ... please help

Is it somehow possible to just use the watch like a GPS? When you put a post code and it will show you the route Ns navigate you?

Sadly you can not put a postcode into a GPS watch for it to navigate you to. I hope this helps.

Yes it does, it notifies if you are 'off course'.

I've been trying to navigate to a point using the map to select the point and it creates a route there no problem , but then It generates the route back to the start using a straight line as the crow flies is there some way to make it generate a path back?

Sorry, struggling to understand what your problem is. You need to select 'trackback' when navigating back to the start. If you bought the watch from us or have one of our support packages please call out tech team - 01669 621044

Fantastic. You may have just saved me from buying an Apple watch. UK resident. I do a bit of hiking and have a Garmin handheld GPS(62 I think it is) that has OS Survey maps. So it's won't show OS footpaths on moors, hills etc? If I am correct, I can plan a route on Garmin connect. I can then send that route to my handheld Or the Garmin Fenix 7? I understand the watch won't have OS maps :-( But it will give me a line/trail to follow? (Like my old hand held Garmin) Why no UK OS maps on a Garmin watch? :-(

Is it possible to record a hike with just a gpx route pre-loaded on the map but not actually using the "Navigate" option? Basically just recording a hike while having the gpx route displayed on the map just to glance at it every now and then to see if you're still on the right track?

Sadly not, only gpx routes (courses) that you are navigating show on the map page.

Yes, it sounds like you have no courses on your watch. Our 'online resource' is the training platform you should really be looking at if you are wanting to get to grips with your watch as there are over 50 videos taking you through everything like this - gpsonlinecourse.co.uk/ - I hope this helps.

You could put it in Expedition Mode, alternatively switch off the mutiband. I would look at carrying a lightweight power pack so you can charge it if you are off grid for multiple days.

A MIP memory in pixel screen always looks far better outside with the sun shining on the screen, an Amoled screen thht you get on the Epix range will always look better and brighter indoors but some people find Amoled screens not as good in very bright sunlight and they do tend to use more battery than a MIP screen, we hope this helps kind regards

Could you clarify Can we use watch (without smartphone connection) for navigation and route calculation within the CITY Most of time i do not like to carry smartphone while going to run but somwtime I do require gps navigation and route calculation If I want explore new areas within the CITY.
