I'm really happy for your son Jack and his girlfriend. You and Lilly's parents are to be commended. So many parents try to get in the way of teenager's discovering romantic relationships. Why would anyone want to get in the way of that hug in the airport? The world needs as many people hugging like that as possible. I wish all of you safe travels and happiness. Thank you for documenting your adventures and discoveries.

when parents forbid their kids doing stuff or going places, they usually say that it is "for their best interest" but usually it is not. The reason more often than not is they just want to avoid worries, what is rather selfish.

If the boy Jack was on land and his girlfriend was also on land they would have already met up. Assuming they lived in the same community . So letting the girl meet him and stay on the boat with the parents is a good idea. Not sure about how the parents will deal with all the extra pressure of having them sleep in what is pretty much a house together. Perhaps we the viewers will never know how that bit of life is dealt with and perhaps that is for the best.

Honestly, you guys as parents are really awesome. She might be his first love or his one love but for sure your son will always remember his first relationship. I love how his siblings nicely tease him but are also so happy and participative in this moment for your son. That's being a family !

I was busy in the kitchen when my husband said "you know the people on Zatara" I said yes "well he's been having an online relationship with a girl and their going to meet for the first time." I said " are you kidding no way,does his wife know". He said "not the dad,Jack". I said"who"! He said Jack the son"! My husband laughed so hard and I was thinking that dirty dog cheat! We watched them meet, so sweet.

How wonderful that these two “friends” finally meet! This visit will allow them to really see how much they care for each other. A true test will be living in close quarters 24/7! Mom & Dad, good luck with this and most important, Bravo to the parents letting their precious daughter travel so far from them!

I just cannot express how impressed I am with every aspect of your family. The properly maturing of all four kids, your commitment to them and consideration and respect for their needs, desires and opinions is heartening. Congratulations to all of you. Obviously I am envious (not coveting). I am too old and had my chance, now with 3-1/2 great grandkids just waiting it out.

Jack and Lilly are so beautiful together. I’m glad he’s found such a great friend . I met my soon to be wife when I was about his age . 6 years of a beautiful friendship that led to a (soon to be) marriage. Loving and respecting another human being is a beautiful thing. I’m 56 years old, been through 3 wars/deployments, seeing Jack hug Lillie with such young love brought tears to my eyes. When you get older and ponder your life you only care about those times that truly mattered. I wish them many, many years of happiness and friendship.

That’s how my ex husband and I met; we wrote for just short of two years, with letters, emails, videos, etc. we met when I picked him up at the airport, and we were engaged 17 days later! Our airport meeting looked just like that. Kind of emotional to watch (he ended up leaving me for someone else) but that’s so sweet and exciting for them! I remember the countdowns on my phone, and the sheer amount of anxiety I had driving to the airport with my friend. Ball of nerves was an understatement! Haha

This video is a good example of how your family is a happy and healthy unit. Jack can be so proud to invite his girlfriend to stay with the family that it seems the thought of "they wont accept each other" or "they'll clash" never even crossed his mind. For a lot of "conventional" families, just spending an afternoon together in a house with a family member's new significant other is literal torture. Well done Z fam! Well done indeed.

Love your videos, especially these last few ones as they bring back fond memories of cruising in the same waters over thirty years ago. Am so happy for Jack and Lilly and hats off to both sets of parents for facilitating these two young lovebirds to meet and spend time together. I am also very envious as my girlfriend of almost two years and I are about to meet for the first time in nine days. Am 60 now but am feeling the excitement of a teenager! I grew on a boat myself and I commend Keith and Renee for choosing this lifestyle for not only the kids but the whole family. Thank you Zatara

Keith has got the mechanical aptitude to trouble shoot these issues and fix most of this himself. Not everyone would have theses skills. So fortunate to have this as it saves you a lot of time and $. So folks your seeing the real deal here. Not only engines but lines and sails etc are the variety of issues that you need to address. He is a Jack of all trades.

In having discovered you guys about week or two ago when you were leaving your previous boat (the mono-hull) headed for Montana (where I also lived in the NW woods for 20+ years) I knew that I had to catch up with all of your videos and I have been doing that almost non-stop ever-since. This one, episode 88, really touched my heart (a 79 old heart) when the two kids finally met at the airport, prompting me to give it a "like" (something I seldom take the time to do) and this comment. I spent my youth in the Pacific Northwest around and on the ocean as part of an extended family involved in commercial fishing (Salmon and Tuna) then six years in the USN on Submarines (two) and an Aircraft Carrier spending a solid 9 months (three WESPACS) over both the North and South Pacific's distant shores, later working the rest of the years wanting my own boat, which I finally bought just before retirement, had for seven years but on a Columbia River Bar Crossing I misjudged weather/tides/ and my own lack of experience at the beginning of a long planned trip to Alaska ... it did not scare me but it sure caused me to question a thing or two. I immediately returned to port and tied up alongside a friend in Astoria who had a certain admiration for my boat ( a 47 foot Skookum Commercial fishing motor-sailor) and that very evening, while sharing sea stories, I made him an opening to own my boat and dream. He jumped on it and I put the money into my venture into the mountains of Montana, something I also had longed for, and thereby fulfilled most of my wishes and dreams having been there and done that just enough to satisfy my "bucket list" in life. Long story-short, I am in a sense reliving a life in part actuality and part in dreams through folks like yourselves that publish on KZfaq ... I am so happy for you all and also very thankful!!

I only became aware of this channel a short while ago but immediately joined up and have been binge-watching (and thoroughly enjoying) each episode chronologically since day one... THIS episode (although it only shows us the beginning of Jack's special BFF relationship) is very special.. and touching.. (Ah.. "young love".. how sweet it is!) I'm within seconds of watching episode 89 with great anticipation!!

@@bojackson1850 not for a family with 4 children. Even at anchor they can't just get away from each other. It is important to have your own space so you can retreat and just be by yourself if you want to.
