True, the Cavaliers were cringe but this is objectively a bop. Plus it kind of makes Cromwell seem cooler by saying stuff “We have no kings, we are all kings”, lol.

@@jakublubocki7998 FitzJames Stuarts are more legitimate.
@callumwynne5370 Жыл бұрын
@@veryunwisethewise Not really Fitz implies illegitimacy and indeed they are the illegitimate descendants of James II. Whereas Francis is descended from Henrietta the youngest legitimate daughter of Charles I in the senior unbroken legitimate line. If we discount illegitimacy then the descendants of Antigone Plantagenet illegitimate daughter of Humphrey Duke of Gloucester son of Henry IV can be considered the heirs of the House of Lancaster, hell we can go back to the illegitimate sons of the first plantagenet monarch Henry II and follow their line. Thus why legitimacy is a key factor in the Royal succession, it was also to safe guard against children whose parentage was uncertain from gaining the throne, not like it didn't happen anyway e.g. Richard III's DNA does not match the Dukes of Somerset the Beaufort family who are male line descendants supposedly of John of Gaunt Duke of Lancaster. So either the Yorks or Lancasters wife or maybe even wives had a fling at some point thus a member of the offspring being illegitimate and not of their bloodline but likely believing and living as though they were, most likely not questioning it.

nah its 100 percent "but cries democracy" it makes no sense to say The tyrant state subjects all but rise democracy in a pro royalist song because that would insinuate that the royalists are the tyrants. the tyrant state subjects us all but cries democracy makes way more sense and implies that those who now rule (the Anti Royalists) are tyrants but hide behind the veil of crying democracy. also i have really loud headphones and can hear the C in "cries democracy" also the poster sais they fixed aload of lyrical errors. this is just one that slipped through @@studentaviator3756

The lyric is "The tyrants' state subjects us all, but cries democracy". It's a very open sneer at the Parliamentarians. The Parliamentarians claimed they were fighting to defend Parliament and the Magna Carta, yet to the Royalists they are now tyrants and oppressors denying their rights after seizing power.

As far as I can make them out: We have a king, and yet no king, for he has lost his power! For 'gainst his will his subjects are imprisoned in the tower. We had some laws, but now no laws by which he held his crown, we had estates and liberties, but now they're voted down! It's a mad world my masters, where kings may lose their crown! And commoners take coronets, set up, yet soon put down! We have no King, we are all kings, and each doth do his pleasure, and hasten anarchy abroad, and sin beyond all measure. The Crown and Sceptre're, out of date, the mitre low doth lie, the tyrant's state subjects us all, but cries democracy! It's a mad world my masters, where kings may lose their crown! And commoners take coronets, set up, yet soon put down! We were free subjects born but now, we are by force made slaves, by those who we did count our friends, but in the end proved knaves. And liberate from royal grasp, we find ourselves enchained, by demagogues of humble stock, who have our king arraigned. It's a mad world my masters, where kings may lose their crown! And commoners take coronets, set up, yet soon put down! The freedoms we were told were ours by those who fought the king, have now been proved mere empty show, a vale of hollow ring. Where justice was to be our lot injustice rank now grows, and from the spring of liberty a sullied trickle flows. It's a mad world my masters, where kings may lose their crown! And commoners take coronets, set up, yet soon put down! Arise therefore, brave British men fight for your King and State, against those traitorous men who strive this realm to ruinate. 'Tis Pym, 'tis Pym and all his ilk, that do our woe engender, naught but their lives, and end our woes and us in safety render. It's a mad world my masters, where kings may lose their crown! And commoners take coronets, set up, yet soon put down!

James II was subject to the absolutely insane warming pan theory, it's was also about establishing a centeral bank. That's why it wasn't the people who decided, it was a handful of influential MPs who were jealous of the dutch banking system. Ever wonder why the "financial revolution" (which resulted in the introduction of national debt) happen immediately after the "glorious" revolution. Like if you wanna get rid of him, depose him. Don't do this weasely behavior and send secret letters asking foreign nations to invade
