I had the volume low and I thought you said it ‘smell’s like fake news’ had to go and rewind and I’m glad to know it smells like ‘fig newtons’ 😂

I've been building up stock for the "cellar" lately. And there are some tins of this on the way. Even though I've seen many low rated reviews from back when the transition was made up to as soon as recent years. So these tins, except one, will be heading for the locker. But I will crack open the tin of one, and wait some weeks before going at it. I recall a review or two saying "it gets much better with age, with the Va taste and effect overtaking that of the Per." I can only hope it aging four to five years, or more, will deliver a much sweeter treat when the first aged tin is popped open.

@@amanrelaxes Great, I do expect its delivery today or tomorrow. So I will crack open just one tin and then try a bowl fresh from the tin. Then left it simmer for nearly two weeks before trying another. I've bookmarked this vid, and subscribed, and then I'll get back to report. I am just weeks into pipe smoking, at age 61 yrs, but I am doing my best to do it well so to enjoy. I.e. the learning and all ...and not having a family piper to sit and watch or question. Besides building stock, and properly aging tobacco ...I've also been working on the 'Breathe Method' and even trying Michigan Piper's "Michigan Method" ...I've come up with my own that works very well for me. I'm 'mudding' and modifying any and all cobs; trimming the excess stem in the bowl and then applying a 1g plaster of Paris + 0.6g activated coconut charcoal + 0.4g salt + few drops of water mixture. And this has worked wonders on those, keeping them cool and w/o any cracking ...yet.

Love your reviews. You're good at this. And you definitely have a more sensitive palate than mine, in terms of getting the nuances in the profile. I also was turned on to EM from Bradley. I think I've gone through maybe 3 tins over the past 9 months or so. EM got bumped out of my ribbon Va/Per go-to tobak by GL Pease's Stratford though. Very similar ratio/proportion but I prefer GLP's casing. Just a little more rich & buttery. I'd be curious to hear your impression.

Oh, and I should mention that Bradley also turned me on to Stratford because that's what he switched to as his all day smoke when EM was off the market for a while.
