This is my all time favorite blend. In fact, smoking a bowl now as I write to tell you how much I enjoy your reviews. They always seem informative and spot on, at least, according to my tastes as well.

I just recently picked up a tin of EM. I totally get why this is your favourite. I'm still fairly new with pipe smoking, and so I'm still exploring the different blends. But I could see this blend easily being one of my favourites too. When I opened the tin, I got that beautiful fruity, raisin smell. Already impressed, at that point. Then I lit a bowl, and holy crap! Such a tasty blend! And the aromas are so nice! I can see this being a regular in my collection. Really loving this.

First time trying this. I didn't expect much to be honest as I don't usually go for Virginia blends but this is so balanced. I will certainly be getting more of this. Absolutely wonderful blend thank you Bradley!!

Bradley, I have to simultaneously praise and scorn you for sparking my obsession with this blend. It's absolutely amazing. I've torn through a tin in record time, and spent nearly all of my money trying in vain to have some stock for the impending demise of Dunhill. You're a regular pusher, but with excellent taste. I suppose I may find something _similar_ in the G.L. Pease catalogue, but there is a very good reason this is the 2nd-best-selling tin on SmokingPipes right now.

First I'll say thanks for this channel! I really enjoy the vast majority of the content. Second I'd love to see a review on Rattray's Brown Clunee. This channel expanded my horizons beyond the basic aromatics and I couldn't be happier! Happy Holidays!

On my first tin of Elizabethan Mixture and might I say I am very impressed. I prefer my Virginia blends straight, with no Perique. But after being brave and giving it shot I am sold. Great tobacco forward flavor, bold with just the right amount of Perique spice to counter the sweetness and hay notes of the Virginia. Your review has been EXTREMELY helpful in my purchase. Keep up the great work!

Your descriptions of the tin notes make me really want to score some of this fine tobacco. I took a little break from pipe smoking because I wasn't using a good enough pipe rotation but I have learned. I really do like the flavor and aromas of smoking a good quality tin of tobacco. I was tempted to buy this tobacco when I heard how this was your favorite blend. When I tried it I was disappointed with it. I found it very bland. I like to think I smoke my pipes cool using the breath method but still I felt "meh" about this tobacco. Then last week I bought a Vauen Zeppelin Pipe. I have been using Elizabethan Mixture to smoke the first bowls of my new pipes, one, to use it up and 2, because it has no flavorings to ghost my new pipe. And was I surprised at the flavour! All of a sudden I get it! The way the Zeppelin smokes really brought out the flavour of Elizabethan Mixture. It just goes to show how a different pipe can effect the enjoyment of different tobacco blends! Thank you good sir for this channel. I enjoy your reviews greatly! Cheers!

Hi Bradley, I finally got a tin of this stuff and cracked it open today, your review is spot on! Perique is never overpowering but a very good compliment and I also noticed at the bottom of the bowl, very nice and sweet smoke without being too much. A very good blend indeed. OK. You talked me into trying pipe. I received two MO Meerschaum pipes and a couple of tobaccos in the mail and bought a cheap briar and some more tobacco at my local tobacconist today. My first pipe (tobacco anyway) is Elizabethan Blend in corn cob. So far I am pretty impressed. Easy load, easy light and easy smoking. I'm a cigar smoker looking for something different and simpler. if it weren't for the cost of pipes it would be less expensive, too.

Was restocking myself on nightcap and threw a tin of this on the order since you speak so highly of it. My first foray into VaPers!

Smoking my first bowl of EM Peterson version that’s just came out and went back to watch this 4 year old video. Damn ur review is spot on. Exactly my reaction - surprisingly mild but still very tasty and probably the best behaved bowl I’ve ever smoked. Burned beautifully, zero tongue bite and super smooth. Just relaxing and great natural tobacco flavor with a hint of perique. Perhaps a tad too mild but a great anytime smoke. Would love to see a review of the Peterson release to get your view on whether anything changed.

Two days ago ago I walked in a pipe shop in Rome and there were several tins of Elizabethan! I bought one aaaaand you're right, it is delicious :D

Bradley, after enjoying your review I had to try elizabethen mixture. The first half of tin didn't really impress me. Then I kept at it and it truly improved for me. It is mild as you say and the taste is refined and nuanced. When I get to the sweet spot which for me is about one third down the bowl the blend comes into its own and I find myself really enjoying the mixture. Thanks for your review it made my foray into this vaper a better experience.

Just re-watched your Elizabethan review again before opening a tin of my own....I think it's my favorite review - boy you were on fire that day Bradley - - singing, humming, "raining like a mofo...." Took me a while. I had given up on whether I could appreciate VaPers the way so many people that rave about them do. Based on this video, I got a couple of tins of Elizabethan but struggled with them compared to some of my favorite tobaccos like, Frog Morton on the Town or Dunhill Nightcap. But something clicked, and now I really like it. Great video, and I'm glad I stuck with Elizabethan, because now it tastes incredibly good.

Orlik's Golden Sliced is my favorite tobacco. I have to try this mixture, looks really good. I've been smoking pipes for four years now and all I smoke are virginia dominant blends, I quit the aros and the englishes. I have recently fallen in love with peterson's irish oak. great review I will be buying this! cheers

I have been tempted to try pipe smoking for years, my great-grandfather was a pipe smoker and knew other gentlemen that were, and there was a shop where I grew up which would sell clothes and pipe tobacco only. So after seeing your review of Elizabethan Mixture decided to buy a tin and pipe to try. Hoping to have my first taste later on today so will let you know how I find it :) enjoying all your videos.

Bradley, I finally was able to pick up a tin of Dunhil's Elizabethan Mixture. I found it to be most enjoyable. Being an avid cigar smoker, I found this mixture to have the "taste" of being much like a cigar, which I found very pleasing. Good call. I will be smoking this more often when I can't enjoy a stogie 👍

Once again nice review! I quite enjoyed all the Dunhill blends I tried so far. I have never known the old versions neither, but I think the STG did a great job with those vintage blends. IMHO people should stop complaining about how the old tobaccos were much better. They're gone, a thing of the past. Besides, doesn't everything look better in retrospect? Back to this blend: Due to the high content of Virginia tobaccos, I find it very important to smoke Elisabethan Mixture deliberately slowly, because a lot of its aroma gets lost, when you smoke it too hot.

Will be cracking my first Dunhill Tin tomorrow and this is my choice. Looking forward to trying it!

Discovered your vids a few weeks ago, great stuff bro. Always look forward to watching a new one you post. I bought a tin of Elizabethan because of this video, and thought it was good...different than what I'm used to- usually buy Tinderbox blends that have been cased...so a va/per is a bit different. I got 4 oz's of something today that you might like to try: Peter Stokkebye's luxury bullseye flake...about 10% perique (little more than the Dunhill I believe, Nice VA, and a center of black cavendish. More of a nicotine kick than the Elizabethan...try it if you haven't already. Great stuff! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the review of Dunhills Elizabethan. After starting with an aromatic (Peterson Nutty Cut) in a new pipe for my first smoke. This tobacco is very nice. More of what I expected. Plus the fact that I tried it in my new Savinelli Roma 623, love this pipe...so far ;-) Stared on a lovely Art Deco Chacom, tighter draw as compared to the Savinelli. Which led to a lot of tongue bite. That and inexperience. Looking to try the Orlik Golden Cut next. Cheers!

Bradley, I'm smoking my very first bowl of EM as I type. i picked it up based on this review and, a third of the way down the bowl, it's pretty damn good! I probably would have passed on it had it not been for your review and recommendation. I'm just working out what my main rotation od tobaccos are since I'm just returning to pipe smoking after a long hiatus. I think EM is going to, at least, be in my collection all the time. Very nice tobacco! I know this is your first review video and, these requests may have already been made (or reviewed) but try some of the Hearth and Home Marquee series. White Knight and Black House are two of my absolute favorites. Haddos Delight from GLP too. Be well.

Hi Bradley I need your advice. I bought Elizabethan mixture and I liked at the beginning. Now it is giving me problems: I m starting to find it ashy..could it be because it is become too dry? Or is it the Perique that gives me that sensation??- actually I like Virginia, I love full Virginia flake and Frog Morton cella is so nice(is different I know but it has Virginia). So, do you think it is due to the Perique or might be because my Elizabethan mixture became too dry??if so, how to easily re hydrate it?

This was the very first pipe tobacco I ever had... I have to say, it scared the hell out of me. When I first smoked this, seeing as how I'd had no prior experience with pipe tobacco, the spicy burn in my nose and the top of my mouth was like "Oh shit I'm doing something wrong", but about half way through the bowl it mellowed out for me and started tasting - to me - like it smelled, which was fantastic, and I fell in love. I also realized that the spiciness is part of the tobacco and that I wasn't smoking it wrong lol

Just got my 1st Elizabethan, is very strong punch but I like the flavour and aroma...any recommendation for virginia perique that not so strong than this?...maybe a little bit mellow?

Just a spot of warning about the nicotine in this blend. It's high. Higher than in Nightcap I believe, so don't be fooled by the 'light' flavour of this blend. If you're not prepared for it it could come as an unwanted surprise. I have a fairly high tolerance to nicotine and have never had a bad nic-hit but with this one I definitely felt the effects of the nicotine. Luckily for me it was just a deep feeling of relaxation; my eyelids even became heavy!

I've just tried Elizabethan mixture for the first time this afternoon and I notice my tasting notes of it read very similarly to yours. My only only regret was that the wonderful dried fruit smell doesn't really come through on the taste. If I could box up that tin note as a cologne I'd wear it every day.

Okay I saw your review and thought this would be something to try. I found it at a local shop yesterday and ran out the door with it. I must've smoked at least three bowls, disappointed and trying to find the flavors in it. I watched the video again, wondering what must I be doing wrong. Looked up reviews, and saw that many others experienced what I had. Then I watched this, again. I heard you mention you've been doing the Frank method. I looked that up, and tried it. As I smoke this, I'm starting to really enjoy it. The nicotine is great, and I can start to taste these subtle, wonderful flavors pop out as my nose tingles from the perique. This stuff is very nice!

I've recently rediscovered pipe smoking after almost 30 years absence and have to say I am enjoying it much more now that I did then, thanks in part to the many excellent YT channels such as yours. I really appreciate your tobacco reviews and find myself rapidly gravitating to vapers and look forward to comparing my impressions of new (to me) tobaccos with your experience. I do have some Elizabethan and Escudo in transit, subject to customs clearance. One thing that tweaked my interest was your comment on the artistic merits of the tin and I was wondering, what do you do with all the empty tins?

Have you tried Rattray's Old Gowrie? One of my favorite Virginia/Perique blends for quite a few years.

The draw is always easy with a calabash meerschaum pipe. Cool, and as dry as a nun’s t-t. I can now smoke SG Full Virginia Flake. You should try one!

I smoked some Dunhill E.P. in2006 and and got woozy from the nic. I think Dunhill phased out their pipe blends around 2007 (?) I always loved Dunhill London Mixture. Did you ever review it ?

I love your videos, sir! Great stuff! Have you ever smoked Elizabethan in a meerchaum? When I do, I pick up a little bit of toasted marshmallow. This is my favorite everyday smoke. I hope it doesn't really get discontinued. I'm looking for an alternative as well, just in case. It's not really the same, but have you tried Cornell and Deihl's Three Friars?

I just recently started to really like this tobacco. The first couple of times I smoked it I was like "meh". It really grew on me after a few bowls. Now that it's probably going of the market I am stockpiling. Great video btw:-)

As I currently smoke a bowl of Elizabethan Mixture, I wanted to congratulate you for the awesome reviews. I've watched all the them back to back and look forward to more. One question: I'm a seasoned Cuban cigar aficionado (have been smoking for around 13 years), but never smoked cigarettes. I just started smoking pipes and Elizabethan Mixture is my first Vaper. I was wondering, in your scale, how does this tobacco rank in terms of nicotine? I ask this because although I do love this blend, I do feel somewhat "breezed" by the nicotine.

I love the art on the tin too, and I really wish every tin had art this good! Been reading a little early American history, and it's fascinating to see how much Virginia tobacco (shipping back to England), was such a major cash crop for early colonists in the 1600's. I think that's what they might be going for here as far as theme is concerned, if anyone cares. :)

Just had my second bowl of this. I am still new to pipes. I don't seem to get much flavour at all from this blend? It was very much like warm air to me. Maybe I'll try it again next time instead of retreating back to my full Virginia flake. I wish I could pick out the subtle flavours, I did start on cigars and still smoke them from time to time so I am used to a stronger flavour. Hopefully my flavour profile will expand in time.

Please do a review on G.L.P ODYSSEY, it seems to be the only one you have not covered, and I trust your taste, it's spot on my man

Have you tried getting STG produced Virginias and perique to try and create something close to Elizabethan? It's something I am trying to do when I get some free time.

I decided to get this blend after watching your review. My opinion is, too lite for my taste. The perique feel is noticeable and I loved it. But unfortunately nothing followed. it never really hurts to try something new. My friend now has a new tin so it was not wasted. Keep up the videos tho, much appreciated!

EM is pending in my rotation. Currently smoking FMOTL, Nightcap, Solani Virginia Flake w/ Perique, C&D Junkyard Dog, and the VaPer is indeed a nice change of pace. Will have to try Orlik sometime and look forward to see how the flaked VaPer compare to EM. Just for curiosities sake do you own a churchwarden? I don't own one yet but will probably buy one eventually. Terrific channel thank you!

Is there an equivalent to elizabethan that would come in broken flake or flake form?

Have you compared Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake to Elizabethan Mixture. My taste buds find them to be pretty close.
