My sister and I camped at Joshua Tree a few times. In a tent, with a fire, and the stars were so bright and countless! One time, we were driving a dirt road toward a camping area, and a coyote stepped in front of our car, making us stop. He just stood there. Then, his mate limped out of the brush with one back leg held up (poor thing). I threw some food out for her and she grabbed it and went back into the brush. So that first coyote knew to stop us in order to feed his wounded wife! It was so amazing! I took a picture of the coyote. I'll never forget that.

This was without a doubt one of the most enjoyable specialized video tours of the Palm Springs region that I have ever seen. This couple captured the real local flavor of this amazing town and with some peeks at Joshua Tree /Yucca Valley (where I resiide). starting with the Vintager Market which catpures the flavor of the event accurately it goes on show why Palm Springs and its surround community is mecca for Modernist and desert landscape enthusiasts. I am also a vintage devotee and can attest to the sentiments shared by the host. She is a pleasure to listen to with a voice that is not exaggerated or pitchy (is that a word?). She narrates clearly and enunciates perfectly for my ear. We get to see and hear through her eyes and her 1st person narrative, some very interesting highlights from around the area which are presented honestly and sincerely. I love the researched facts which are supported by inset clips which substantiate the claims made on screen. Bravo! The production values make it an informative and intelligent travel show.

Oh, funny, my sister lives in an Eichler home (in San Rafael, CA- Terra Linda area.) They bought it in a foreclosure as a fixer over a decade ago, when it was much less expensive. They had never heard of Eichler and neither had I. Cool to hear him mentioned on your channel! You would have loved the house I grew up in, which was suuuuper midcentury modern. It killed me that after my parents sold it, the next owners ripped everything out and made it generic contemporary. Including the massive stone fireplace.

THEY REMIND ME OF THIS REALLY COOL KILLER CLOCK I SAW IN ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CLASSIC MOVIES OF THE 1930'S "TROUBLE IN PARADISE". L, we went to Palm Springs from N.Y. for out 50 th anniversary. La CInta Resort. Fabulouse. Picked about 25 pounds of oranges and grapefruits from the trees behind our little cottage. Nothing like THAT in N.Y.!!!!!!

It’s great that you guys filmed so much of the Vintage Market during Modernism Week. I was working it… I’m the idiot hocking vintage stereo equipment (my legs at 6:04) and didn’t get a chance to go look around since it was so busy. Nice to, at least, see some of it on film… though I do remember that white fireplace. That thing sold almost immediately in the morning.

When u mentioned the Paul M chairs at the start of video. I saw those triangle curved chairs, I have one of those chairs and I have never found where or who was the maker. I think it goes back to the 80’s that I remember it being at my fathers home.

Come visit Sarasota! Home of the famous Sarasota School of Architecture. We don’t have but a few of whole neightborhood with that style. But there are lots of charmers! Many in the Southgate neightborhood and in Lido Shores.

I just discovered you a week ago and just watched this video. I love it, good job presenting PS. I live near there and try to frequent the thrift stores there and eat at Sherman’s or Thai Smile, often. Revivals is a fantastic place to thrift! I was a real estate appraiser and was able to appraise a few homes in Palm Springs. They were so awesome.

Could you remove all the tizzy bits off the wall clock until its the desired basic box shape you desire. sand it back to raw timber and then stain or paint preferred colour. If the finish is not desirable because sometimes the base timber is a bit ordinary then find your ideal laminate timber and glue on and French polish. Add the perfect brass numbers and voila!!

Loved this video- the tour around the flea market, the city, the hotel/restaurant 🤩🤩 I’ve only been to Palm Springs like twice I think, besides the other times I passed thru while traveling. The next time I go back home to LA I wanna try to plan a trip to Palm Springs too 😄

What a treat when I get to watch Laura as she takes us on some of the most awesome places and we get to shop right along with her. I grew up in the mid century and I probably have several things from that era. It is all comfort to me and good memories of my parents. I guess you'd say my house is mid century that I inherited from my parents.

So funny, Palmdesert is my home town was good to see home, I now live in Sacramento there’s an area in Sacramento that has Eichler homes I lived in one in Sacramento, I’m now in Nafplio Greece, back to Sacramento in may you should make a trip there to see them….and some great thrift stores,
