The PGS XT1 Demo set built by Kenesky continues to make its rounds for testing and in this video we dive into my review on this new set making its debut from Detroit Michigan based brand PGS.

These are Kenesky pads, so...not new, and I'm not sure why he didn't mention that, because when he kept saying "North America" I presumed made in Mexico.

@laxinthe303 Yep! Designed by PGS, built by Kenesky, in the same continent as Mexico. Definitely should have mentioned that. I know Matt over at hockey reviews points that out in his video. I’ll at least add it in the description here

Love hearing your thoughts on the pad and thinking about it in comparison to what my feelings were. They are a really good set of pads overall so it was cool to see where our ideas differed or overlapped. Well done Bonesy!!

I guess since Kenesky makes it for them is why they say they can't make full custom designs.

I'm looking to buy the PGS glove over the Bauer Supreme Mach glove since they'd be about the same price but wondered if it's worth it to get a custom, new brand over an off the shelf, reputable brand. Thoughts? Also, any discount codes for PGS products?

I believe there’s a few codes floating around somewhere but I don’t know if they give a discount or not. Could always check their instagram or try messaging them. And that seems to be the ultimate question with lesser known brands like PGS. I’d say if you have interest in trying something new and want something custom then go with PGS but if you’re hard set on a specific piece of gear that you’re already very familiar with then I’d say stick with what you know

Looks good! I feel that the cord on the face of the blocker is going to be cut out pretty fast. Also would you go to this set over a major brand one?

I think that’d be the burning question. I still love my Trues so much that I doubt I’d move out of those into this set.

Sexy gear ,would prefer more flexibility but it's very well made .I'd buy the blocker n Catcher for sure .

Hey Bonesie, i notice that you wear glasses , have you ever playing with them ? Do you wear contacts?

Nah I just wear contacts. I’m actually pretty much blind without them 😅

@@BonesyTV sadly I can't really wear contacts as I have astigmatism and there's chances it could turn in the eye making it worse then no contacts , so it's glasses for me . Still searching for a good anti fog that lasted the whole game . Btw love your Channel, keep up the awesome work

@@BonesyTV I can't handle sweat getting into my contacts, I have to use glasses when I play and use some prescription racquetball glasses. Unfortunately my regular eyeglass place stopped offering fog resistant lenses so I have to put some of Howies anti-fog spray on before I play. Super annoying!

I’m not goal keeper but I start hockey being one. I love hockey and equipment. Now on that point all the new goal keeper equipment minds me of lacrosse gaol pads thin light and small to a goal keeper I was gifted. Two sets of goal pads Brian’s and a set of blocker and glove now my friend who always has new gowl things his pads look ridiculous to the ones I have. I still use real leather gloves. Even the NHL players are wearing clothe gloves. They do not last long. I’m waiting to see how long all this lacrosse hockey goal goal pads I want to see someone wear it all year in a season and after how it fairs. I’m old school I like the thick real leather pads. And real leather gloves.

Yeah goalie gear has definitely changed over the years. I like playing in the vintage stuff from time to time and try to play the old way and it’s a totally different experience. But when I switch back to my modern gear I can see why everything has changed so much. The game has evolved since the big leather pad days and the goalie position had to keep up by playing faster and relying on the butterfly to seal the ice better and it’s been cool to see the equipment evolve over time too

I was watching the juniors. Tournament and a keeper took his goal pad off. All Velcro now …I’m just not liking the vision on hockey equipment. Lately. Irbe used to run his pads over to break in. The good ole days.

Man the Irbe days were awesome. I don’t think we’ll ever see another goalie in the NHL with that kind of relationship with their gear
