In keeping up with any new animated releases of 2024, THIS project landed in my lap, a little too close to home. It's not a standard American studio working on this project - this is a Sky Movies thing. A British Production, outsourced to a smaller animation studio. And from a streaming service used entirely by parents who don't know any better, this movie comes out to be an incredibly generic slop of what parents might think "just a movie for kids" should be. With knock-off James Corden, rip-off Garfield, too many potty humour jokes and a need to lash out at hipsters in the 2020s, this movie comes off as the epitome of everything people imagine, when disregarding animation as cinema. But how bad could it possibly be? Well, I roll out a TERRIBLE episode on it in a few months time... It's called 10 Lives by the way. A poor title as well.

@@Vaguer_Weevil Oh I agree that it's a terrible name; just had to point out the Drone Bees are an actual thing. And being Bees without stingers makes some logic to the villian is being stung is his villian turn. Though I'd be surprised if the writing team did even that much thought into this. So Robo Drone, while still being stupid; at least isn't techncally as redundant as it sounds.

drone also being a type of bee is in my opinion *why* chopping the "robo" part off would have worked- "drone" already has the double meaning, it's already both a robot and a bee! nothing needs to be added to specify robot or bee as drone already encompasses both of those things!

In the US, the sales tax goes on your total and not for the item, like if you got 10 $1.99 items (pens in this case) the tax wouldn’t be added to each item it would be added to the total ($19.90) which would equal 21 Something, and 21 something is more than what you’d get if each item had a 7% increase

I understand your criticisms but at the same time basically just essentially calling the movie out for being nothing but cliche seems a bit of a low-hanging fruit Like honestly even some of the recent movies that you've praised seem honestly pretty methodical and cliche. Most stories have already been done. There's a million save the bees stories there's a million AI gone rogue stories there's a million time travel stories and realistically they pretty much all follow the same general plot line I think the real problem here is that you need to find a way to stand out You have to make your save the bees movie unique and different from all the others and that's where this movie failed It was good if you were able to convince someone to watch it but there's nothing really drawing people to watch it because on the surface level there's nothing to differentiate it from all the other stories that use the same general outline It's not the fact that it's full of cliches that's the problem It's the fact that there is nothing really unique to make it stand out to say hey this is a movie that's worth your while to go out of your way to watch Give me memorable characters or an interesting side story or a unique world to immerse myself into. If you basically just make generic show for kids the only audience you're really going to attract is little kids who are just scrolling through whatever video site just looking for the next cartoon to veg out to

"forgettable movies are all the rage now", movie critics say ... yeah, I watch this guy to pass the time but him, like many other KZfaq film reviewers, are too easily impressed and I feel they are going out of their way to lower their expectations. As the years go on, we're further away from remembering what quality was like. Whether they mean to do so or not is getting to be irrelevant with how annoying it is; it's like a surrender of their critique and their long-term memory. Over and over. I agree to your point about cliche though. Any competent enough writer can make trope a useful tool, instead of a crutch. Intellectual laziness just seems to take precedence ... and Dazz calling this movie a rip-off of Garfield because a "cat is fat and does things" only supports this.

I feel like calling it a rip-off is unfair. If they'd made a Garfield movie, it would have been terrible and people would say it was destroying the IP. At least this way they are trying to have it be it's own thing, and stand or fall on it's own merits.

Sky is a TV/broadband/mobile provider owned by Comcast, their satellite dishes are a fairly common site in the UK. Now TV is a budget subsidiary for IPTV and broadband. Ironically I get Peacock because of Sky....something I only remembered because of this video.

drone is a gender for bees, ants, and maybe wasps and hornets (along with drone, you also have queen and worker, queen being the brood bearer, worker has all the working roles, drone on the other hand... only has 1 role and that is to breed and die, not only did they make a poorly thought out name reference, they also name the robo bees after the one gender that doesn't do anything but mate and die)

so for context of now tv, it is the biggest streaming service in the uk, if it not on netflix, prime or bbc iplayer, it on now. it where most new releses go, hence the price. most people only get teh film or tv, never usally both.

Sky animated movies are so over marketed in the U.K. imo, I saw so many amazing Maurice and 10 lives ads on social media and on billboards that made me want to tear my hair out I saw The Amazing Maurice- another sky animated film at an animation festival and I’ll give it this the animation was decent but everything else about it was the biggest pile of shite I’d ever seen in my life and we were expected to CLAP after the film was over. I then saw Unicorn Wars straight after and it restored my faith in animation 😭 Also 10 lives is basically just a shitty copy of A Dog’s Purpose.

If I had kids, I wouldn't let them watch this. Very young kids have a hard time telling stories from reality. I wouldn't want a little kid bashing the family pet over the head, because the kid thinks the pet will just come back to them as a different cool animal, anyway.

its called heterochromia any creature can be born with it even humans. it's not anything bad it's just normal but mostly found in cats, dogs, mostly dog breeds being a husky. it's cool tho :)
