My parents and I went on an adventurous road trip across the us (almost) from Wisconsin to Utah. The US is honestly so wild. I'm German. I do a 1 day roadtrip and can visit like 5 different countries. While Americans are just driving through 1 state forever. Also the snow part???? I was SHOOKETH

I did a group bus tour across the US with Contiki, from Chicago up through Wisconsin and across to California - I could spend years just driving around the US. There’s such an incredibly diverse range of environments and landscapes and cities, and I love it 🙌🏼

I lived in Wyoming for 5 years, and ya, it snows whenever it feels like it. Usually the last day of snow is somewhere in June and the first day of snow is in October. And when it's not snowing it's pouring rain and there's a lot of lightning, or it's so windy that you trampoline is blown into a neighbor's yard down the street (true story). Also, at least where I lived, there isn't a fall season. No pretty orange trees. It goes from summer to winter, the temp change is so drastic so fast that all the plants just die immediately and the snow comes. It was fun

I spent like 8 years of my life living in Northern Wisconsin (a few different towns no bigger than 2,000 to 4,000 people) as a youngin and let me tell you, if you can get past the textbook issues with small town life, it's so magical. ALSO, driving through Nebraska is always the WORST part of any roadtrip.

Seeing the Mississippi reminded me of my second USA trip 2008 from Germany. I crossed it with the subway in St.Louis, to explore the city. But the only interesting thing on the other side of the river was an Aldi store, which I had never seen outside my home country. I hope one day I will come back, to see more of America.

Living on a farm has its ups and downs. Being out in the country is fun and very relaxing sometimes. On the other hand there are coyotes, foxes, and bears around our property. Also we do not get up a 4:00 we get up at 8:00-8:30.

I totally understand you anja, like when my family rented a big ass truck for a roadtrip and there was a dead animal on a highway so the traffic was stopped for hours in the middle of the night, like I remember all of us being irritated from the hours in the truck but when I tell the story that never comes up, I only talk about when my sister needed to pee so she went to the front of the truck and we cover her with towels but my brother turn on the lights so everyone saw her or when some people got together to tell scary stories bc we were in the middle of nowhere and everything was dark or when we climbed on top of the truck to have room to lay down but everyone wanted to be up there so we started to play rock paper scissors for time on the roof, that's what I remember the most, is hard to make memories when you're comfortable

I lived in wisconsin for about 3 years. and I grew up pretty far north indiana. i live in South carolina now. and I miss Wisconsin. I love the dreary weather.
