Hey there! Thank you so much for joining me for another solo playthrough! Verdant is only the second Kickstarter I've ever backed and it's practically the perfect game for a Solo Play Sunday! It's peaceful and relaxing and puzzly, it's not too long, it's got gorgeous art and components... AEG and Flatout Games knocked it out of the park with this one! 🪴 Have you played Verdant? If so, have you given the campaign-style scenarios a try? I found this very fun and I'm looking forward to working my through the more challenging scenarios!
The charity for today is the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a "pediatric treatment and research facility. It is a 501(c)(3) designated nonprofit medical corporation which focuses on children's catastrophic diseases, particularly leukemia and other cancers. In the 2021 fiscal year, St. Jude received $2 billion in donations. Daily operating costs average $1.7 million, but patients are not charged for their care. *Important: at the end of each round, cards and tokens move exactly one space to the right. I was playing that part of the game incorrectly. So sorry about that!* 😓 Also, I forgot to mention it in the video but Happy Mother's Day! 💐 Have you played Verdant before? What did you think? How would you compare it to Calico and/or Cascadia if you've played either of those games? ☺

I know that the rules are not clear on that, but it seems that when sliding the cards and the tokens to the right you need to keep the gaps, this is how it was implemented in the online demo version.

Hey there, Dominika! I'm so glad you enjoy this one, too! It's such a relaxing and peaceful game! 🪴 And I agree-the rules definitely aren't clear on how the sliding should be resolved! But you know what... I think you might be right about that! I'm not positive and I can't find a rules clarification on BGG but re-reading the rules now I could see how it could mean to maintain the arrangement (with gaps) as you slide the cards/tokens to the right. And I did think it was weird that the card+item pairs would change as I slid some tokens an extra space, for example! Thank you for pointing that out!

Check the online implementation, I can’t put the link here as the YT doesn’t like it, just search for Verdant online. I own Cascadia, Calico and Verdant and for now Verdant is my favorite followed very closely by Cascadia and then by Calico which I find too frustrating

I didn't realize there was an online implementation like that! (I wasn't sure what you meant by the online demo version earlier!) That's amazing! And I played two turns just to check if I was wrong and you're absolutely right-the cards and tokens all slide exactly one space! I'll make a note of that somewhere so hopefully people watching the video see that! Thank you, Dominika! ☺

It is so beautiful! I just showed the game to my mom yesterday and she thought the same thing! ☺️ I love that each card tells you facts about the specific plant! And it's a perfect game for Hannah as a huge plant lover! 🪴

I'm realizing that more and more these days! ☺️ And the plant cards even tell you a little bit about each plant and the rulebook tells you where they're all from! 🪴 St. Jude's is a pretty great hospital/organization! Seems like there's no shortage of fantastic causes and charities to donate to! ☺️

I’ve been playing solo play online and enjoy it. There are no scenarios but it’s still fun!

Trailblazers by Nick Murray of Bitewing Games plays 1-8 players and has multiple ways to play You are trying to make up to 3 types of looping paths starting and ending in either a hiking camp, a kayak camp and/or a biking camp. This game is a drafting game, where each round you are dealt 8 cards and on your turn you will draft 2 and pass your hand. There are goal cards for you to achieve. There are meeple expansions that you may add to the game.

I'm not sure I've ever heard of Trailblazers! I do really enjoy a card drafting mechanism, though! Sounds like a game I'd be into-I'll add it to my want-to-play list now! Thank you for the recommendation! ☺️

23:10 I would use thumb to take orange fishbowl and orang room and place both above dark blue flagged plant on bottom row to the left

Great question! I had to look on the BGG forums but this is what I found: "The only difference is the extra deck of promo cards." So the retail version should include the campaign mode, yes! 🪴
