Just wanting to officially update you guys about the injury I sustained from my last hiking adventure. MRI results back and Doc says it’s a fractured Patella and sprained ACL up to the second degree, meaning ACL is thinned but still there and may have partial tearing. The doctor also told me that I don’t need surgery but might consider getting it taken care of to avoid the risk of fully tearing it in the future.
I know this happens to the best of us and I am trying to look at it as a time to slow down, to learn to be ok doing less and finding contentment there. I will be back out there sooner or later. Hope you guys are enjoying winter now that it decided to arrive!!
Happy Hiking!

As a fellow hiker, I know how much it sucks to not being able to hike for a while due to injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery

Our bodies have an amazing ability to heal and recover and to become stronger and resilient. Our minds do too! We are being provided with opportunity to humbly learn from things that happened and how to proceed and carry on with the same activity. Overprescribed orthopedic surgical procedures are popular with contracted professional athletes who need to get back on the playing field as opposed to the recreational householder who recreates for their wellbeing. We learn to adjust on “The How” better sooner then later as the aging body will inevitably show us. Happy Healing!

Oh man... Sorry to hear about your injury. I can so relate... And know just how frustrating it can be (especially when you love being outside). I was out kayaking late last year and fell off a dock and into a swamp... I totally tore my rotary cuff... had surgery and now face months of PT... Stay positive you will get there... Sending healing energy your way... Peace

New to your channel, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. I had a partial tear in a tendon in my left arm. I race kayaks long distance and it was really affecting me. The doctor said that I could keep going and use PT to try and stabilize the tear but that inevitably it would probably completely tear off he recommended surgery to get the healing process started. I'm still in a holding pattern because I'm terrified of surgery but what he said makes sense. Good luck, I hope it works out for you

Thank you 💗.. Oh man that sounds painful! I hope that you’re able to heal up and gain strength without surgery! I’ve always wanted to get into kayaking but haven’t done much yet… I have a basic one in my shed.. 😅
