Thanks for sharing about your mom. My mom found out she has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer a few months ago and it's been hard watching her go thru it. It's good to know we're not the only family struggling with this. I'll be praying for your mom to heal and beat cancer everyday when I pray for my mom❤

My mom is going on and off through rounds of chemo for over 2 years now and it's definitely hard to be 'usefull' during the process, but just being there and supporting them and taking care of them without them asking is all you can do and all they need

I appreciate your realness about Zekes naps and night sleep I have a 4 month old that takes short naps and her night sleep is inconsistent too and it’s discouraging when I see people’s baby’s that have seemingly perfect sleep online

Throw out that starter and start over if it’s orange on top! That’s usually a sign of mold 🥲 might also be helpful to use a smaller amount of flour/water at each feed while you’re getting it active so you don’t have to waste so much flour. I also feed it with all purpose only, not bread flour!

I have 6 kids and the first two, I tried the food at about 9 months and it was a struggle between them not being g interested or ready (they pushed the spoon out with their tongues) plus trying to find the best time and schedule…I just waited with the others til they showed interest and for example if we were eating I’d share or give them something else age appropriate and the relaxed timings of this really helped. The next three were all after 1 by the way. Current youngest is still a newborn so not sure how he will fare-he will take the lead. All that to say, just relax and let him lead you❤

I feel like doing a mix of purées and baby led weaning is good for getting them used to a lot of textures and also introducing foods through purées you might now be comfortable giving as a solid yet. I always did a mix with my babies! We always would do a bottle then would do food between bottles. I’m not sure your breastfeeding schedule or if there is one at all. You’ll figure out though just follow your mama instincts! Solids can be hard and intimidating at first but as months progress it gets easier!🙂

I totally understand when you said you had a provider who just didn’t click! I have a pediatrician who we ADORE. she went on vacation and I said it was fine to see someone else. NEVER AGAIN. She always makes me feel so happy and always lets me know the numbers are just numbers and my baby is happy and healthy. She makes me feel like the best mom which is the best feeling. I hope you get to go back to your original provider!!

But why did this exact doctor situation happen to me at my sons 4 month appointment. Different doctor and was asking me tons of questions and trying to tell me how to do things. I felt like he thought I was dumb and don’t know what I was doing with my son because I am young. Didn’t like the vibes at all lol.

For lots of reasons but mainly because I stay home, so I’m always with my baby… people just always say “if you don’t ever give him the bottle you’re never going to be able to go anywhere alone” blah blah blah. So I’ve always felt like it’s something I NEED to do even though I feel like it’s more work. I’ve bought multiple pumps, portable warmer, cooler, and we have lots of bottles. I just can’t get myself to get into that whole process.
