I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since. The genre, along with artists like Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, Britney Spears, etc. then motivated me into becoming a hip-hop/pop dancer, which was a very active lifestyle for me literally throughout my whole 20s. (XTRA DANCE 411- I danced for, trained, and performed with 4 different dance teams. My first and main dance team who started my "dance life" was with Marvelous Motion (who later became IaMmE, America's Best Dance Crew Season 6 Champions). A lot of my dance training came from Di "Moon" Zhang, Brandon "747" Harrell, Emilio Dosal, SOREAL, and from attending many dance classes in Houston and L.A. (from amazing local talent to widely-known talents such as Parris Goebel, Keone Madrid, Kyle Hanagami, Lando Wilkins, Mister Wiggles, Rino Nakasone)
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music and dance around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis, seizures, and a heart murmur. I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with Kpop or dance. Luckily, I'm in remission now. That doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups if I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible. I am also not capable of being an active dancer like I used to be due to my chronic illnesses, but I’m still a dancer in my mind, heart, and soul.
ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛 Sooo I am currently and actively keeping a weather eye on the KPOP horizon and also using what I’ve learned from my dance years to give credit where it’s due!

I must say as a Monbebe, I couldn't watch this dance practice before. It hurts too much. But seeing how MX and Wonho have really worked hard since then and pursued their own passions, I am okay now. I know they are still friends and will continue to root for them. Anyway, Follow and Fantasia are the most difficult choreography for me among all MX songs, but they make it look so simple and easy!

Yes it was too hard back then and wonho wasn't even a bias of mine it was just hard cuz of how it all happened and to see mx being pushed on stage and stuff so quickly while everything was going on I couldn't watch the first few live stages either and when I finally did I saw how angry they looked doing it. Like they wasn't enjoying being on stage (which I don't blame them) so that made things harder for us

I'm Army who just discovered Monsta X. Is it just me who can't take their eyes off Jooheon during dance practices? My eyes were glued to him during the gambler dance practice. The way he moves does something to me. Am I crazy or is he an amazing dancer? 🤤

I really admired the effort the guys had to put in with having to adjust the choreo and vocals from 7 to 6 after they'd had it all done. Sucked to watch them have to navigate that mess right after their comeback. They're ridiculously talented and it's just one more reason they're my favorite group.

This was one of their best comebacks, but with everything that happened, it just didn't gain as much traction (?) as the others... They had 1 comeback stage with all 7 before Wonho announced his departure and then they literally had 1 day to re-record the songs and modify and learn the choreos... Some of their feelings are visible in this dance practice (they are dancing with energy - for sure - but their faces spoke A LOT!) and their comeback stages were heartbreaking... So many Monbebes said that they couldn't watch this comeback, but I felt that if the boys could push through it and meet their commitments, we could have supported them and watched all their stages diligently... Anyways, that's my personal opinion and today they are ALL at a good place so the real kudos goes to them! Thanks for reacting! Looking forward to more!

This song and choreo where THE comeback and the Album is just golden as well but it gets me so mad that it is still not spoken about as it should because of everything that happened. Yes, it will always hurt and bring back bitter memories but the boys gave it their all and suffered way more than we did to not hype all the efforts that they put into this song. So thank you for still checking the amazing dance practice to this song!!

They have always said that this one is their hardest choreo. There is 1 performance with Wonho. It was my 1st comeback with MX and till this day I cannot see their performance from the day when Wonho left utter devastation on their faces. Now at least I can see this dance practice. I am glad we are still going strong! Monbebe, MX, Wenee, & Wonho💙

I feel like I couldn’t give this comeback the loved it probably would have warranted if we hadn’t lost wonho. I’ll never forget how starship made them perform right after losing Wonho. I’ll never forget how devastated they looked. It broke my heart. They wore pieces of Wonho’s costume to keep him on stage with them but they looked so hurt. I couldn’t bring myself to watch this dance practice before because we were all so pissed at starship. Wonho was falsely accused by a particular woman who is known for trying ruin idols careers for using drugs and his former friend accused him of owing them a lot of money. Starship did not do enough to protect him. Wonho (as far as we have been told) may the decision to step down from Monsta x in order to protect the remaining members. You might recall in Wonho’s first song as a soloist the line “cause losing me is better than losing you”. This line can also mean it was better for MX to lose him than monbebe. Starship removed Wonho from songs, he was blurred out of videos, the members weren’t allowed to talk about him or the situation…. We were left in the dark about Wonho for six months. And all six of those months we organized protests online, bought billboards to show his face, voted for Wonho on every award possible, we streamed Wonho’s songs like from zero, and sold out anything he was seen wearing or touching to prove that we wanted him back. We got him back as a soloist but I wish he had been allowed to return to MX. You make good videos Thina. I appreciate you

Super appreciate the react! I am always glad to see well deserved positivity in their direction. I will say their MAMA performance of this is pretty awesome as well. Yeah... Wonho was there one night for comeback, and then wasn't... It's a long story and people have a lot of feelings and grief because of it. They had to change the choreo and line distribution pretty much overnight to keep promoting. I'm glad everyone seems to be doing well now. Blue was really awesome for him.

I love Follow, and I adore the Follow - Find you album. It is, to this day, still my 2nd fave album after The Connect, but I cannot watch this dance practice. I am okay with the MV, but man that dp is so triggering for me. It seems silly after 2 years, but it just holds so much trauma for me, and I will probably never forgive the people who caused that, not only for me, but for the fandom. I wholeheartedly support all 7 of them, and these last 2 years (I actually can't believe it has been 2 years already) have made me realise that I will support them all, whether they are in the group or not. But seeing this mv really reminds me of how complete they ALSO were as a seven piece and how well Wonho fit in to this group. No wonder someone was/is out to get them, because wow, the power they hold is insane. 7, 6 or 5 piece doesn't matter, they are really one of the most complete emsembles in kpop. The fact that they could lose a member and still hold the same power is insane. Not saying they didn't lose important talent and abilities when Wonho left, rather that the fact that the remaining 6 were able to restructure and "fill that gap" so fast, is literally unheard of. But man, I still really miss the seven piece that I fell in love with all those years ago, and this mv in particular brings those feelings to the front. I am excited to follow (no pun intended) as you get to know Monsta X as a seven piece, and hopefully you will see why we fought so damn hard to keep Wonho. He is back now and Monsta X are still thriving and that matters more than anything, but my dream will always be to see them back together as seven.

U Definitely should check out ‘ Find you ‘ It's a pre-release song for Follow album and it's such a dramatic song that will makes u crying a river cuz both of the lyrics and the story specially it was released shortly before Wonho left Monsta x and the lyrics of the song express the loss of a loved one, so many Monbebes hate it cuz it reminds us of those tough days.😭😭😭

Escribo en español para poder expresarme mejor, espero no haya problema. Ver el dance practice de Follow es algo muy duro para mi, no lo había vuelto a ver desde que salió, que le di una sola vista y jamás lo volví a ver porque simplemente me causaba y causa mucho dolor. La era Follow es una era muy dura para mi y muchos Monbebes, hasta me cuesta ver el mv porque siempre me trae malos recuerdos de todo lo que pasó en esa era con Wonho. Y me enoja mucho porque Follow es de las mejores eras de Monsta X, donde ellos se rompieron la espalda con un comeback tan fuerte y con una coreo tan dura que a pesar de que si pones la canción mucha gente sepa que es Follow, pocos salen a bailarla porque de plano Follow y Fantasia son coreos tan dificiles y coreos hechas para Monsta x y solo Monsta x, son coreos que solo ellos pueden hacer por lo demandantes y fuertes que son. Me enorgullece Monsta x por todo el esfuerzo que siempre ponen en cada comeback y pese a que Follow solo me trae malos recuerdos, es una era que no podemos ignorar porque los chicos se esforzaron mucho y es sin duda una gran era en cuanto a la canción, el álbum y sobre todo la coreografía.

Me pasa lo mismo. Es súper difícil ahora no asociar la canción con todo lo que sucedió en aquel entonces y saber lo duro que fue tanto para Wonho como para los demás chicos ser dañados de esa manera, más aún siendo Follow un comeback tan genial y con tanto potencial debido a todo el esfuerzo que le pusieron. Monbebe sufrió mucho y hasta hoy recuerdo la lucha constante del fandom para buscar una solución a todo el asunto. Si bien es cierto nada es como lo fue antes, pero ellos están haciendo lo que les gusta hacer.

Fue el primer video que vi de ellos, con este me enamoré de monsta x, luego supe toda la historia y se me rompió el corazón, definitivamente sería la era de Wonho y tendrían muchos logros, sin embargo, los chicos son unos guerreros, se han levantado y defendido su lugar en la industria, cada uno de los 7 son verdaderos genios musicales y afortunadamente me los topé en mi camino, son mi ejemplo a seguir, ahora soy una monweene y estaré con ellos por toda mi existencia.

In Follow MV they were all sooo gorgeous, more than they already are, every second was hard to breath. I remember how in awe I was when they released it and the album is still one of my favorites from them 💙

God this was such a bittersweet comeback. Still my favorite album from them, and i remember how excited everyone was for this cb. They released an mv called find you before this and i remember listening to shownu and wonho's part obsessively, and knowing fully well that the album was gonna be insane. It's so. So weird to think about how heavy they were targeted tbh. Just like one week before the comeback, there was a rumour about wonho and minhyuk joking about metoo movement in a fanmeeting, which was proven to be false but their vlive was so...mellowed out for them. And then back to back to wonho and shownu's news broke, following wonho's departure. It's incredibly fucked up how they had to perform find you after wonho left, which is a song about losing one of them and trying to find them. They looked so sad, especially shownu and jooheon, while performing(i am not even gonna mention shownu's end of promo letter) I. I don't know how we pulled through after that. I think we all forget how impossible wonho's return was, and how much monsta x suffered. I really wish all of them a bright future.

Follow was wonhos last comeback in mx... The mv came out and then a relay dance came out and then wonho was kicked out of the group... That's why it's traumatic to monbebe. Because so much happened within like a day or 2. and also to see mx pushed to do activities right after their brother was kicked out was horrible and made us even more angry. It wouldn't have been quite as bad if it wasn't right in middle of their comeback
