Great video…I was born in Weybridge and as teenagers, before the museum was developed we used to go into the derelict site and you could go through all these tunnels under the track. Happy days.

That was fantastic Marq. Visiting England is #1 on my bucket list. I feel at the age of 57 and the state of the economy here in the states that the dream is slipping away. Looking through the camera's eye may be as close as I get. Thank you so much for sharing. Please keep up the good work Marq and thank you for bringing us along.

Fantastic stuff, Marq - both my boys have been there on school trips and loved it. I must go soon! Barnes Wallis was an old blue as I think I’ve mentioned. He gave the money (£10,000) that he was awarded for his war work to Christ’s hospital as he was so upset about the loss of so many airmen. This allowed the school to set up the RAF Foundationers' Trust, allowing the children of RAF personnel killed or injured in action to attend the school

Great video Marq, especially the bus museum part. It's great what has been achieved since the move from Cobham. Was "On the Buses" anything like the real thing? I'll just say this. It was close at times!! Those old buses had character and strength of build. I was privileged to meet Colin Curtis a few times. He was a major part of the Routemaster design team. On the last occasion we met before he died, he was asked what he thought about the new designs. His reply was "they're all just pices of cheese withwheels." I thought that was most apt from the man who helped design one of the most succesful buses of all time. I went on Concorde once at Duxford. Amazing aircraft. Strange we could do things then thatwe don't seem to be able to do now. And civilisation is supposed to porgress?

You ended the video in my local pub! I keep meaning to visit Brooklands museum, and your tour of the site has inspired me to go and take a look sometime soon. The New Haw lock keepers cottage was used in the old 'First Men on the Moon' movie as Professor Cavor's home. It was rebuilt a couple of decades back after being damaged by a gas explosion. Next time you are up this way go and take a look at Wisley Church, a tiny gem of a place . You can stop off for lunch at the nearby Anchor pub afterwards. Thanks again, Marq, always love your video outings.

Thank you, I wished I knew about the 'First Men on the Moon' connection beforehand as love me a bit of Ray Harryhausen! Regarding Wisley Church, I shot a Video there last week and had Lunch at the lovely Anchor Pub. Amazing littl;e Church that I've been meaning to visit for a while (and it was open).

@@MarqEnglish Well, you were in War of the Worlds country! Such a shame that Harryhausen didn't get to make his own version of that story, his test footage of the Martian looks fantastic. Glad you made it to Wisley, by coincidence I was there last week as well.

Have you considered a visit to the beautiful Shah Jahan mosque in Woking? The old Muslim military graveyard on nearby Horsell Common would also fit in with the theme. There are some Iron Age tumuli nearby, including an impressive Bell Barrow, but look out for Martian Cylinders if you stray too close to the sand pits!

Like you, Marq, I'm not especially into cars but some of these old models have a style about them that makes them classic. Is it a kind of nostalgia? I can see my old bike hanging up there, the one with a lady's frame and a basket! Great to have some dudes explain stuff for you, how generous was that. I did not understand much of what they were saying but I love to hear people speaking so passionately about their subject. Loved the bouncing bomb feature! I'd love to visit that museum. Thanks for a brief excursion. I'm sure that green bus, 403 took me to Carshalton High Street! We need to get Bernie to do a K.R walk there to explain everything. That would be a real joy.

What a delight! There was nothing like that there (that I remember) on my one and only visit 50 years ago. But there was a Concorde to go in, while it was still being built. No certificates in those days either. I think it was a school metalwork/engineering trip, mainly focused on the construction process of Concorde. I remember feeling the perfect flush riveting on the wings.
