I have one of these and love it. I also bought a 22 WMR cylinder for it (works great) and an extra 22lr cylinder in stainless steel (looks awesome). When you buy one of these, make sure you check the tightness on every single screw before you go shooting it - many of the screws were loose on mine (of course the owner has a screw loose too…🤪🤣)

Very cool little rifle. Heritage has been coming out with some nice offerings. That Barkeep was pretty sweet

Being a flintlock rifle shooter, I'm used to having hot flashes near my face go off, so this shouldn't be an issue. Have one on layaway with Bud's Gun Shop and I can't wait to get it

I've broken a trigger spring on one of mine and the cylinder bolt wore on my other one to the point it wouldn't rest on the half cock notch to free spin the cylinder(just had to hold the hammer in the right spot to load it). Luckily the replacement parts are cheap but you get what you pay for expect these to need repaired eventually.
@haydenfrost26922 жыл бұрын
This is the first I've seen someone mention a break or a fault with these
@redtra2362 жыл бұрын
@@haydenfrost2692 They're pretty good guns and to be honest I do abuse mine a little(I've fanned them a little, and shot thousands of rounds out of them). The replacement parts were both under $10 too. But they are made out of some pretty crappy metal.

Yep, same here. After wanting one of these for MONTHS I finally got one, picked it up from the FFL, shot a 325 box of Federal through it the next day and it broke... Hammer spring is rattling around inside the stock. Heritage wants me to ship it back, but for $30 shipping I would probably rather just fix it myself. I wish their warranty was as good as Ruger. This might be my last Heritage, which is a shame because I LOVE this thing, and my Rough Rider pistol. I really wanted a Barkeep, but I guess you get what you pay for sometimes.
@redtra236 Жыл бұрын
@@TheOfficialCaseMade I mean sounds like you got a lemon if it broke that fast. I like mine but they won't stand up to as much abuse as a lot of higher quality guns. The carbine is pretty neat though since it's about the only rifle you can get that can easily be converted between .22 short/long/LR and .22 WMR.

Buyers beware….there’s another version that doesn’t have the Leather strap or strap points on the gun. I ordered it by mistake not knowing there was a base edition. Make sure your model has the LS extension on the end. Don’t get me wrong I love the one I received but I was really disappointed not getting the total package after so long a wait.

No, they're classified as rifles when you fill out the paperwork.

Buy the 16" barrel pistol first, THEN buy the stock for it! Remember, it's "legal" to turn a pistol into a rifle and back again, but NOT LEGAL to turn a rifle into a pistol and back. 👍
@redtra2363 жыл бұрын
I don't think the pistol version has adjustable sights? And the grip is at a much different angle on the rifle as well so I don't think you can simply slap a stock on the 16 inch pistol version and make it the same as this. And why would you even want to turn this into a pistol anyways gonna be a lot of major modifications to make the grip decent you'd be ahead just to buy a rifle and pistol.
@bigd78613 жыл бұрын
@@redtra236 Pretty sure they swap out with just a single bolt. This entire gun is novelty. So damned cheap, mod it however comes to your fancy!

Oh it’s a suppressor I thought at a glance it was the 16 inch barrel so of course a WMR should fit the stock thru me off
@knife_knut3 жыл бұрын
Yes, 22 WMR cylinder works - I own one of these
@williamcrane82363 жыл бұрын
@@knife_knut As mentioned above, it's the 16 inch gun with a rifle stock on it, so it fits AND you can buy the stock and convert to your hearts content. I bought a 6 " American flag grip just to have a single action pistol for dispatching live trap varmits. Why that model? It was the cheapest. But you can buy any of their grip sets and change out if you want to protect or feel like going designer mode. We're not talking Bernelli's here, just good solid, cheap firearm. Kinda fun to shoot it, put the WMR cylinder in and see the difference in power. It's more pop then you'd think.
@knife_knut3 жыл бұрын
@@williamcrane8236 not sure why you tagged me. I said I own one of these. I was answering someone else’s question regarding the ability to use a 22 WMR cylinder.

How's the accuracy out to about 15 to 25 yards! I could live with a 1 to 21/2 inch group.
@RevGunn-jq3cq2 жыл бұрын
@@redzone1019 at 10 yards I generally can hit a coke can between 9 to 10 out 10 if I take my time, beyond that It’s sort of a crap shoot as point of aim and impact is not all that consistent between each gun and different ammo. I know a few shooters that shoot them with mini mags and are very accurate at 25 yards. I barely can see that far at 65 years of age. I rarely waste shooting quality ammo through mine, just cheap bulk ammo
@redzone10192 жыл бұрын

@robertharing70313 жыл бұрын
@@tripplebeards3427 I most certainly believe you, but there’s quite a few videos of guys out there shooting the HHR and having a good time we have only put about 6or 7 hundred rounds through the one I own and it goes bang when I pull the trigger and the best part of it it was only a $179 pistol when I want quality I pay for it I have pistols that I paid a $1000 for and rifles that cost twice that I don’t understand why people are so bent out of shape over a pistol that cost about what I spend on ammunition for a day at the range and I don’t even make a lot of money
