Күн бұрынTo outsiders, the only word for the M23 derby is “strange.” Because, despite being in different cities, having a short history together, and rarely competing for trophies, Brighton and Crystal Palace form one of the EFL’s fiercest rivalries. Quite a good overview. Some important omissions, though. You missed out the 'FFS Murray' moment when Palace handed Brighton their first league defeat at the Amex with Glenn scoring. Plus Henry Hughton ending Gerry Ryan's career, with his brother Chris ending up managing the Seagulls. And the pre-season 'friendly' that kicked things off when Palace fans caused havoc on an unsuspecting seaside town. And how 'Seagulls' became Brighton's nickname after Eagles became Palace's.

The rivalry started well before the game at Stamford Bridge, I was at the original tie at the Goldstone and it was already alive and kicking. M23 derby is just silly, as we nearly always went by "Special" or another train. Charlton have just as much a rivalry with Palace, it's just we have difficulty meeting them. Mind The Gap.

It is the most violent as I found out when I was working as a Millwall football steward in the late 90s /00s. I was almost attacked by West Ham because I was working at Millwall even I support Arsenal...Also could include Leeds fans as they hated any one who is associated with Millwall on any capacity.

Before Brighton, Millwall would have been the main rivals for Palace (even though Millwall dislike West Ham more). Even today there's many palace fans who still consider Millwall as their main rival seeing as they are the closest club to palace.

Perhaps Leeds vs quite a few clubs? There's a reason over 1/3rd of the clubs in England chant 'We all hate Leeds scum', and as a Leeds fan myself I think it'd be a great video. Also very underrated channel, loved this and the North London Derby video. Keep up the good work!

@@culturefootball Maybe not too reciprocal from them, but definitely Man Utd. Some of the Yorkshire derby's like Huddersfield or Sheffield also up there. Chelsea too.

And now look at us the seagulls vs the eagles in the premiership league the only other clubs that had a fierce rivalry was West Ham and millwall although there’s a chance to see them face each other again if West Ham get relegated this season

As a Palace fan, I would suggest that Palace Brighton is perhaps one of the least fierce rivalrys in all of football, globally. It's pretty much just for the telly. I quite like Brighton at the moment and hope they get top four.
