Gotta lose something in a trade. Heurter, Davion, #13. Could do that. Don’t want to lose Barnes. Him off the bench could be one of the best parts of this deal. But losing both Monk and Davion would be hard to swallow.

I am not ok with any trade that includes Davion. After listening to this I feel 8% better about Kuzman but I still have my reservations about it working. So the 13th, HB, Shasa, Duarte and a future 2nd

Not sure why you wouldn't include Davion Mitchell. He lost his spot in the rotation this season. Wildly inconsistent. Sure. Good defensive player. Hasn't developed as a shooter or scorer the way the Kings need him to be. The Wizards need help at the point, badly. Mitchell can get a fresh start in a new place and the Kings can get way better. There are good backup point guards available for the veteran's minimum. To me it is a no brainer to put him in a deal for Kuzma or anyone else that makes the team better.

Kuz will be in DC as long as he wants to be. He likes the city and his role on the team. The Wiz love his leadership and know they need players who want to be here.

yeah Kuzma will great fit for this team...another player who loves to rely on the 3pt...and with coach who will give him the green light got extended 3 more years..wont win much in playoffs but it will be fun to watch during the season and apparently thats all that matters to the Kings franchise.

Great interview. I wish you would have also discussed Deni Avdija's availability. Deni would be cheaper younger, great size, IQ, good creative passer, defensive rebounder, runs the floor, good handle for his size, shoots off the dribble, gets his own shot, can spot up, shoot the 3 well, pays excellent defense, highly underrated small forward. Seems like a great teammate too. Good splits. Perfect fit for Kings. Will need to move Harrison to the bench.

Yes, Deni is cheaper, younger, better, etc etc (you forgot great descending contract) which is why he would cost a TON more than Kuzma in a trade. The Wiz probably wouldn't trade him for the #1 this season, let alone #13.

@youdontreallybelievethat thank you... he is what we need more of, and his contract is exactly the sort of margin you want to exploit to build and win. And as he is locked in and his contract descends, he allows for the kings to add another caliber player, plus his contract is so good that if for some reason he doesn't work, they could get almost everything they sent out back in return later...he would almost be a free try...plus, he said he would like to be here...that is perfect for a small market team that struggles to get free agents. And it stops another team from exploiting that contract against us... so yes, please, we will roll the dice, and i hope 2 and 13 work out in a few years after this franchise actually takes a shot while our players are in their prime

He said he didn't want to be here...It would have been a waste of pretty much all of the picks the kings had.. west was too good to pull a kawhi/toronto situation.... but it makes kuzma saying he wants to be here even more valuable for a much much cheaper price

Considering Monk is probably gone, how does it make any sense to trade Mitchell? If you lose Mitchell too, you definitely need the #13 pick this year. I'd trade 2026 1st rd pick, Huerter or Barnes, Lyles and a future 2nd rounder as well. We need to see what Sasha can do with consistent minutes.

Easy trade! Our defense was 9th with Barnes starting and Kuzma is better than him. Loosing monk is bad but I think barnes would be aggressive off the bench and the sign Melton to a MLE our bench would be good either way melton, barnes, and Lyle’s to go with our starters

Kuma is a role player on a good team. Poole fits in a Heurter starter, spray thrree brown system. Keep kevin and lyles unless HR.

Personally, I think getting some cool tattoos on the king's roster is exactly what we need. Kuzma will definitely be up there as one of the coolest guys on the roster along with Monk. Nerds do NOT win championships.

As a DC native & Washington Wizards fan I like Brandon (Locked On), but I disagree. I’ve listened to Will Dawkins and he is not going to trade Kyle Kuzma for the 13th pick in this weak draft. Kuzma has multiple suiters to include OKC, Spurs, Raptors Detroit, Lakers, Warriors, Miami etc… Several of whom have better first round options in this year’s draft. If the Kings want Kuzma be prepared to outbid several other teams. IMO, This is what the Washington Wizards front office is banking on to meet their asking price. If they don’t get two first rounds, they’ll likely go with the best offer. I don’t believe that the 13th pick will make the cut.

Yah do what's best for yah. Kings have been there. We traded franchise players like Kevin Martin for Karl Landry and Ron Artest for Donte Green, who was the 28th pick. Looking back, I would have taken the 13th pick over what we got for those guys. If Wiz can get better picks than 13 great.

Must agree it would be an upgrade over Barnes but i just dont want him (and not much more expensive). I see him being one of those emty stats players with low basketball IQ. i would better go for Obi Toppin or even P. Siakam. But if we cant get one of those two or for example Markkannen then go for it. Team needs big changes or risks to end up below play-in next year.

Did u not watch him get a chip and play his role on the lakers? It’s all situational in their environment and circumstances. Pascal and Obi aren’t leaving the pacers. @@Drewskiifadez well his PER was 15.7 (better then average but far from being any impressive) his WS was 0.2 with WS/48 being 0.04 (far from being the best in team). To me stats wise he is new Juwan Howard with nice stats at first glance but with very bad "hidden" stats when you look deeper. As i said it would be an upgrade over Barnes but with some concerns. How would he adapt to team, would he like to be 3rd option and play most of the time catch and shoot? Can he transform like A. Wiggins? I just think SAC can get someone better with this year 13th pick and maybe future 1st rounder. Yes Siakam most likely will stay in IND but why Topin would? Why yould he want to be reserve (for probably whole his new contract if he stays in IND) when SAC can offer him a starter role? I see here J. Brunson situation. Lets get real there are no 'for sure" that Murray will become that 3rd option on offense. Last season he really struggled to create his own shot and thats it what SAC really needed. Personally i would consider trading Murray for Markkannen or Siakam and adding R.Covington next to. As you say, lets be realistic as i said without real changes this team risks to end-up below play-in next year. Dont see that any of teams that were better last year will become worse. While SAS, HOU and MEM will inprove maybe even a lot. So, atm SAC looks for sure better only over UTAH and POR. Sure Murray should improve but how much? I hoped from his so much more this season (he wasnt that 19 years second year player, he was 22..), but he looked more like a decent 3 and D player then a serious 3rd option on a winning team. Maybe this is what he will be? Sure Ellis also should improve, but again not to that 3rd option we need. Sac is in quite unique situation bc one of their top 2 players is more like a floor general but not the one you can give a ball and hope he will carry team in critical moment thats why 3rd option player that can create his own shot is so important.

Everyone outside Sacramento is expecting a big splash for someone near all star level... Just think of the angry fans who were upset because of the run back. They need to land Kyle kuzma or Zach Levine... Both had been a n discussion of trades since Vlade divac was GM. Right or wrong the chasm of the top teams is evident and the Kings winning 45-48 in the West is just barely getting them into a play in... They got to take a chance this year. I think win or lose the Kings fandom needs to see the management swing big this year to give coach Brown talent period. This is to say any player beyond fox and Sabonis is tradable if it gets us players with talent. Yes the draft is a way to go too.. but i really don't see a starter after 1-5. Keon and Davion made strides late. Monk may go if the offer is $24+ Mill a year. The kings can get an offer of between $21-23 max good luck with that. Detroit or Orlando can pay that and if the rumour mill is true they are pushing his value higher.

This is a pretty ignorant assumption to make off of a whim without evidence. With the lakers, he was objectively unselfish during their championship run. I imagine u made ur assumption based on his low shooting percentages or shaqtin a fool clips. But, as someone who watches all of his games, it should be attributed to the burden that was placed on his shoulders to be our clutch shot maker who would have to heave it up whenever the shot clock got low.

The reason why he did want to be traded to the mavs is because he wanted to try to be a no. 1 option and an all star this was mid last season around the trade deadline he already won a chip with the lakers as a 3rd or 4th option so you can’t hate him for wanting to want to take on a better role in Washington not to mention his shooting percentage and efficiency is good despite the wizards record.

Wow! Expiring deals for Kuz. I would take that in a heartbeat, but I would be really reluctant to trade Trey Lyles. He's so good when we play small ball. I like the first trade better for the Kings.....Huerter, Mitchell and the 13th pick tbh.
