A Sharp or Sanyo Prototype DCC175 Portable Digital Compact Cassette?

2 жыл бұрынNico Hattink donated this Prototype or Pre-Production DCC175 player with the rare computer connection cable to the HomeComputerMuseum in Helmond, the Netherlands.
We asked them if we could take a look as this is potentially the very first model.
They surprised us by donating the player and pay it forward to the DCC Museum and this video we show the amazing results after taking a closer look.

Maybe an infrared camera (like Sony's NightShot) would help you better see the remnants of the logo.

Hahahah! If that was a Sony from that year, that belt would have been glue. Sony used the worst weird belt material that just turned to tar after a few years in that time period. I am a total Sony fanboy but gotta say it like it is some times, Sony cut corners a lot.

Ralf, ben je nou nerveus als je zo'n uniek stuk onder handen neemt? Ik heb dat ook wel eens en ik moet echt soms effe een rondje lopen!

Niet nerveus maar wel opgewonden lol. Het is dan lastiger om ook te filmen, maar het gaat steeds beter moet ik zeggen.

Does the service mode work the same as the production model too?

Good question. I did not test it in service mode, as all was working. We will check during your next visit.
