We're back guys with NEW MERCHANDISE and to finish off these traditional hunting spears with Aboriginal Elder Uncle Les. Most people visit Cape York in remote Australia and are lured up through the middle to take on the amazing Telegraph Track but there is a rich culture that lies deep in Cape York if you're willing to look for it. Its the side of Cape York that you don't see but I highly recommend trying to discover it for yourself next time you visit.
We've put our rods down for 2 days, so no fishing, which is tough but well worth it to sit and listen to Uncle Les tell stories and show us how to find materials and make hunting spears the traditional way.
I hope you guys enjoy.

Man, that was another mesmerising episode! I love the fact that the knowledge uncle les is passing on is thousands of generations old! Done the same way basically since the dawn of the human race! That is such a privilege legend and I can see the deep seeded respect and stoke you have for the whole experience Nath! And that genuinely make me smile! What a great last few episodes mate! Thanks so much for the time and effort mate! You and Dane definitely need some spear throwing practice, haha, and that’s half the fun! Really enjoying this series mate! Thankyou so much! 🤙🏽

Haha I agree, it looks way easier than it is 😂. Stoked you’re enjoying this stuff so much Jay. Yes it means a lot to me spending time with these elders, like you said this is ancient knowledge. It’s priceless! To think an old fella made a spear yolk using that same tree for the shaft and the same resin from the Ironwood root even 500 years ago is mind blowing

I have only been on two adventures in my 57 yrs. one to ularu in 1984 which took 32hrs to drive there and I received a very hard fairly heavy boomerang used to knock down kangaroos made by one of the elders and the other was up through the Cape in 1997 where I camped on country with the locals who showed us where to fish and hunt which I still can’t shut up about! Your videos allow me to go on new adventures and relive my old ones so thank you so much 😊 We should all spend time on country and attitudes would change dramatically

I'm so glad I found out channel. I've been going back through your post history and love all the videos. It's kinda like when a series all drops at once. It's almost dangerous that these are all here to just binge watch your adventures. I'm sitting inside in MN in the United States and hearing all the birds and sounds in your videos is so peaceful and is helping push through some seasonal depression. Can't wait o get out on my "tinny" or jonboat as we call them over here. I dream of one day maybe having an adventure in Cape York. Looks absolutely stunning.

Occasionally I come across an interesting channel and subscribe, occasionally some channels stand out more than others. I enjoy a meat pie, most channels I subscribe to are like a servo meat pie, they usually hit the spot and I enjoy them, sometimes they can be a bit dry and need a bit of sauce. Occasionally you are going past a bakery and they are the best pies around, they don't need sauce, they ain't dry, they have just the right amount of gravy. I can't say I've compared anything to a pie before, this channel ain't the servo variety, it's the bakery with the best pie around variety. Cheers boys

I REALLY enjoyed your careful tracking of crocs! We have them too in Africa but I think they are not as aggressive as Saltwater crocs. Generally, Africa crocs do not EVER attack people on Land. But they are opportunistic feeders in the water. I help with training trackers and tracking dogs, and if I might share a tiny tip...Foot tracks make up less than 40% of signs leading to the quarry. Establish what the animal or human is, then start spending 60% of your time looking for low aboreal signs. Use your nose. (sorry smokers...that won't work for you) Listen, and Listen and Listen again. Question bush sounds and identify them. Know the alarm calls of squirrels, lizards, birds and Insects. (insects go quiet in the presence of larger mammals) Use your fingers and hands to examine as many dung samples as you can find. Study the insect activity of the insects at the dung sites to establish age. keep sniffing. Most mammals emit smells when threatened.
