As a Skybite mold, yea, he sure aged quite a bit. It just show's how much the standard for figures changed from decade to decade. As for the idea of "reformating in to a new bein", with the acception of the more "horror theming". The idea is something of a norm for cons. The Decepticons turned Unicron servents from 86 movie. Destrons from Best Wars 2 and Neo. Or Decepticons (especially Demolishor and Cyclonus) from Energon.

Definetly a common thing for the cons to get more reformatting. Most of the times it recolors/repaints. The '86 movie cons feel very regal and medieval in my opinion. Galvatron, Scourge, and Cyclonus feel like cybertronian dreadknights! The Neo Blentron figures definetly lean into the horror since they used the some crazy fuzor moulds!

I find holding the trigger button down as you reload gets the fleshmissle in there fully. This Skybyte mold is one of my favorite thing to exist

Its a pretty fun and unique figure! A very characterful sculpt thats has great shelf pressence.
